I’ll get crucified for this but I think VF should RIP and create a spiritual successor with exact character roster. In short, name change. Am I the only one thinks the name is the most aged long lasting franchise title ever?
I would also be curious to see how a new fighter from that team (if they even still exist) would do. I think VF is a relatively niche fighter in a relatively niche genre, but it’s a franchise close to my heart, so I wouldn’t want it to never get another sequel.
No juggle button in this game allowed, but BG3 has genital wobble or whatever. Or is that PC only? Lol. I mean if a Sony or MS says no to these things in one game, keep it consistent.
You should live the life of a mod… having to sift through the same bad actors usually starting the doom parades is beyond tiring, especially when the old criticisms still being utilized aren’t valid and this obsession with playing the “exclusive” game like it’s the 90s when cloud, subs, and everything else didn’t exist is just… well trolling, and a masturbatory relationship with misery/causing misery, seem too kind at this point. In general, this exclusive talk inevitably falls into console-warring list-war garbage… and that shit’s against our TOS.
Not just saying, some of us are getting really tired of the usual suspects lobbing grenades and we will be acting accordingly.
Franchise names are literally the first draw for people… changing Virtua Fighter to something else would be beyond stupid; if the game weren’t a fighter any more (a la God of War 2018 compared to OG), that would be absolutely understandable - I’d feel a lot more positively about God of War if they had actually made it a different franchise (the shoehorned Kratos still is just a draw USING the name God of War).
Maaaaan I wish there was either a demo of 3 on Xbox or that they’d put 1 and 2 on GP, just so I can see if this is my kind of game. I fear I will dislike the turn-based combat, but like everything else it has to offer.
It could be worth checking out Divinity Original Sin 1 or 2 if they are ever on sale, they are distinctive in their own right but very much the same overall formula. Though so far I would say BG3 is a solid step up in overall consistency.
I don’t think the old BG games is using the same rule set though, but they are great games even though they show their age. Haven’t played them on console so I don’t know how they run. Great stories and much adventure though. But if you are looking for a feel of how BG3 plays I don’t think that’s it.
I haven’t played BG3 yet though so I can’t swear to any of it.
