Origins or Oddysey for you guys?
Iāve yet to even start with either, lmao. Valhalla I gave up on, man what a slog and it felt like I was getting nowhere.
Origins if you want a more streamlined story with less bloat. More compelling story in my opinion too.
Odyssey is more like an epic saga story, it certainly has its bloat but if youāre a Greek history nut head like me, itās basically nirvana for those type of fans.
Both are awesome. Origins is smaller, but feels big. The setting is phenomenal, same goes for Odyssey. I love just walking around in the environments hah. They combine history and mythology in a great way, makes for awesome games. If you have even a mild history interest this is heaven. Odyssey has Kassandra though, which trumps pretty much all AC protagonists before her.
I always play things in order, so I canāt speak as to how it is going back from Valhalla and I havenāt played that yet so canāt compare them to that.
Both Origins and Odyssey are must-plays imho.
AC Nexus lets you play as Ezio, Kassandra, and Connor. Always enjoy any chance to go back to the first two⦠Connor is so dull in 3 though.
How are they going to market it to the average gamer exactly? I donāt see any 8K games out.
That last one is a very⦠odd choice?
AC in VR sounds like a trip to the ER for me though.
My PS5 box said 8K⦠lol
I guess the pro will be marketed with 12K?
The same way they did the ps4 pro. people will buy it same with xbox if they released a mid gen upgrade. they just got to say it performs better and the media will do the rest
It would be funny if they end up going with this half measure only for Xbox to jumpstart the next gen like they did with the 360.
But again they had the rise of 4K televisions to back that up and get some people to jump in. That is not the case this time. Only the super hardcore care about that , and that is what the PC is for. ( I imagine thatās why Xbox doesnāt feel the need to pull the trigger on a āproā model) Also there is the matter that the current consoles still havenāt been pushed in any real way.
The sell ratios were 20% or less for the mid-gen upgrade consoles.
Sounds good. I have both games but just never really started with them. There was always some other big open world game for me left to finish. But maybe sometime next year Iāll start with them. I do remember going from RDR2 and then to Origins and I remember how awful controlling the character felt, just weightless, whereas Arthur really has a weighty feel when moving, which I appreciate.
There is a premium Xbox gaming system that you can buy right now that will give you great performance and graphical fidelityā¦ā¦.itās called a PC.
A PC is a PC though. Not a console. PC has its downsides too. This year Iāve read about quite a few games that while not greatly optimised for the consoles, was absolutely horribly optimised for PC. Iāve left my PC gaming days far behind, ever since the start of Xbox 360 or even before. Consoles will always have the ease of use, PC not in that way.
A console is a type of PC, it just do a specific task, but we wonāt get to that lol. My point is that Microsoft is now prioritizing ecosystems instead of a console nowadays. Doesnāt mean they will not make a powerful console, they will, but only in the beginning of next gen. Besides, if we want to see Xbox games in its full glory of great fidelity and performance, itās always gonna be better on PC.
I loved Assassinās Creed Odyssey. My 3rd best AC game behind #1 Black Flag and #2 Origins. I rarely replay games but Odyssey was one of the few I replayed back in 2022 because I had a four month gap of new games to play. I replayed Origins in 2021. I replayed both because I was so disappointed with Valhalla. Loved the setting and the Vikings stuff but other wise, just nowhere close for me when compared to Origins and Odyssey.
P.S. - Kassandra FTW!!!
I didnāt like Alexios voice (actor) so I went with Kassandra when I first played the game and because of how the story plays out, I do think playing as her is better than playing as Alexios. MALAKA!!! lol
I feel Origin is the better game, but Odyssey is peak Ubisoft formula.
