I’d be pissed if the game came out and I was an XSS owner.

MS are not gonna let that precedent be set, any dev having any kind of issue could do the same going forward

What would make far more sense is just patching the split screen in when it’s ready but regardless, the game is launching the same day as Starfield, it would have basically bombed releasing at that time on xbox and this gives them a convenient way out until the split screen or whatever solution they have is ready

They are a studio of like 300-400, so not that small. It’s a pretty big game though I suppose.

Then the people with a Series S would be pissed off. Should you matter more because you paid more?

I’ll be honest, I haven’t been enjoying the “good for me, not for thee” energy surrounding the Series S lately.

Its small for the size and scope of the title and only recently had increased in size, so not everyone was working on the title for the entire time is was in development. AfAIR, they were closer to around 170 employees than the current 300-400 over the development timeline.

Porting a game with systems and possibilities as complex as it is probably takes a hell of a lot of work and a lot of manpower, as well as lots of testing

300-400 sounds like a lot but probably not as much as you’d want to be able to do al these things

And you have to remember that not all of those numbers are involved in the game development. There will always be positions for HR, Financial, Sales and Marketing, Facilities, and IT (that do not work on the game but keep them up and running etc) and other departments I’m forgetting.

Played Sword and Fairy: Together Forever for a few minutes and first impressions are great.

Did someone here play it? It is worth completing?

But I was told Game Pass doesn’t save a game.

Yeah, I meant patch later. Just have xbox version launch without coop, but I guess they don’t want to comprise

Also it seems, they’re not shy about series s constraints. Anyways, I think that would’ve been best solution, but we do have to respect devs not wanting to comprise for a feature they feel is important

I just started playing it a couple of days ago. I forgot how much I loved Battlefield. A couple of buddies convinced me to get MW2 back at launch and it’s fine, but in my opinion it just doesn’t beat the squad based gameplay of BF. Had a match on Valparaiso last night and it brought back so many BC2 memories.

All this drama over a feature that’s getting more and more irrelevant everyday

It’s already working on the Steam Deck, mind you the proton experimental feature needs to be turned on and there’s some audio bugs, but at this point the big constraint seems to be that the Xbox version just isn’t as far as long in development as the others. They also turned off split screen on the steam deck.

Baldur’s Gate 3 out now and works on Steam Deck and desktop Linux | GamingOnLinux

Edit: Would like to add, the performance is rough, but it shows that the steam deck version has had enough development that people can do a work around to play it before it’s fully verified.

Hopefully for the fans it will be done early 2024. You’d think that should be possible with the game almost done for PS5 now too.

Maybe, while it could free up more people do the ports, it’s like they would be on big fixes first and the article mentions how Larian was aiming to have the steam deck version be fully verified by the time the game launches.

It’s wild how the moment August 1st hits, “WHERE’S THE MARKETING?!?!” I don’t even see marketing happening over NYC (the city that never sleeps) until like 2 weeks before.

Yeah that’s just stupid, who’s saying that?

Xbox diehards are salivating for a big mainstream game to finally brag about I think :person_shrugging:. Impatience is setting in lol, it will come.

I’m not in that “crowd” I should add lol

Just bumped to LegacyKilla. I think Kidsmoove, though I heard “odd” things about him. Trying not to be too judgmental…

People definitely tend to pay more attention to ads and marketing this time around. Usually I didn’t care about it but I notice it I’m doing it too. Seeing a lot of people in general just saying they don’t understand why it’s so quiet, when it is about Xbox’s biggest game since Halo really. I have that feeling too, but it’s not like I’m scared about the game’s launch or anything.

But it’s not just ads, it’s just their silence in general. I guess some tweets by their official account, like a countdown every now and then would be nice, some presence I guess. It’s just quiet. But August is still early, for all we know it’s blows up next week.

Honestly don’t know how the marketing, ads were for Fallout 4, and all their other games though. Seems people didn’t concern themselves with it back then.
