I think PlayStation 5 customers are currently having a better time than Xbox gamers, the lack of first party titles is hurting the Xbox brand at the moment and the fact that Redfall is getting such a negative reception already before release isn’t helping. I’m getting flashbacks to 2016-2018 when Xbox just didn’t have many games.
This is going to continue to hurt the brand, by the time we really get some banger first party titles I’m kind of expecting the Xbox Series X and S redesigns or even a pro console. Xbox is not making it out alright when the last major AAA first party title was almost 2 years ago., and the console has lacked a brand presence within retail, advertising and Game of the Year discussion.
If I had to make a console decision right now for a first time console purchase I’d go PS5, no question. Only reason I can stick around Xbox is because I know what games I like, and a lot of them come from Xbox first party. I’m a fan of Halo, Forza, Gears, Fallout, Elder Scrolls etc.
Xbox needs to be taken accountable for. They needed to have first party games but they just don’t have them. Xbox One had killer titles out by the third year of the consoles lifespan. Halo 5, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Gears Ultimate Edition, Forza Motorsport 6 and Fallout 4 would’ve all been the upcoming games people were looking forward to 3 years in. For Xbox Series X, it seems like all we’re looking forward to is Starfield, a new IP that’s hardly had any gameplay and has been delayed from its original launch window by almost a year.
I feel this been tge case since last gen. However, gamepass is a great value proposition for a person deciding on a console. At the end of tge day most people play multiplats and play where their friends are playing. I think that last part os what hurts microsoft rather than exclusives Sony acquires.
Anyways, this gen is about Microsoft figuring out consistency with releases and are playing the long game . Xbox will become an enticing place for people to get into ecosystem once they have their heavy hitters releasing. I do agree with some of this post due to 2022, and brand has taken damage at this point of gen, but it can recover
What’s going today? I’ve seen this same type of diatribe in four different places. Gamepass has a ton of games this month, I have way too much to play and I’m good. It’s just weird that today this sentiment is going around.
This is what influencers do to people. The large amount of Xbox is doomed takes from influencers with an Xbox leaning the past week is starting to show results.
There’s a good amount of replies there saying it doesn’t look worth the price. I mean they’re right considering the collection is $80 USD lmao. I have the Japanese physical version pre ordered because even with shipping it was somehow cheaper than buying the collection digitally (and it’s digital only in the West which is lame)
Crazy how Atlus will charge only $20 for P3 and P4 remasters but so much for this. Further proof that Atlus regrets pricing P4 on PC for $20 in 2020 because besides P3 every one of their other remasters had much higher price points.
The doom posting is absolutely everywhere since the Redfall nonsense. If Xbox is so bad, just jump ship and buy another console or PC, life is too short. It’s exhausting seeing the same doom and gloom no matter where you go.
I know Xbox will get better in the next few weeks. next week we’re going to see the CMA approve the Activision deal which will change some of the narrative.
May will be a lot of EU approval process stuff, Redfall release and by June we have the press conference along with Microsoft taking ownership of Activision, which could spice up the month.
It’s been a ride this year so far but I feel like by the end of the year Xbox is going to have a number of great games out. Maybe folks will still be angry but I hope that folks are too busy playing games.
