Xbox version of Gal Gun Returns cancelled thanks to the Certification Team

Nintendo’s nearly complete lack of any oversite on their allowed releases is not something I’d hold up as a positive example for the industry.

Who was hurt by that?

I can’t take this in good faith any longer. Do you really care that desperately about touching schoolgirls in Gal*Gun? This is the stupidest hill to die on that I could imagine.

They are not even censoring anything else, and we don’t even know the cause for the cancellation. This game about touching school girls bodies and underwear is really not worth the outrage for censorship.

Yeah it’s nuts. Game is available cheap in multiple places if you’re that desperate to want to play it. It’s not like DMC5 where Sony actually did censor things. Xbox has been pretty damned tolerant for games released on the platform.

I agree, if MS starts pulling things like Sony did with DMC 5, then I’m gonna have a problem with that.

Let’s get DOA Xtreme 3, at least. Everyone is of age in that!

Heck noooooooo, that’s the worst game in the franchise lol.

Xtreme 1 first, because that has the best volleyball gameplay. The second can come just because

Nobody, everyone here just wants to clutch their pearls in fake outrage.

It has nothing do with the dying on the hill. But where is the smoke, there is a fire. One incident of censorship - or whatever happened - implies that more such events will happen sooner or later. Not to mention a lot of communities have been eyeing anime and japanese style erotic games or whatever for censorship or bans for a long long time.

Because they so often sexualize children, yes.

Those games have gameplay???

It uh, has volleyball. Probably the best volleyball mechanics of any game out there (I meant this as a joke and then realized it’s probably true). Also, don’t forget the incredible pool hopping mechanics and the revolutionary butt battle system. And rock climbing… don’t forget that…

Sure do! They’re a lot of fun especially the first game. Gal Gun is fun to play too but I’ll take Time Crisis any day of the week (dead series though :frowning:)

I’m sad that Gal Gun isn’t coming to Xbox though. If the game is ready and rated by the ESRB, I really hope ms’ stance can be changed on this as the game launches in about 5 weeks.

Sure, it’s fun to laugh at just how trash the Switch eShop is, but you know, I’ve never heard of anyone boycott the Switch or tell people not to buy a Switch over it though. I don’t see how the industry was negatively affected by it.

Word it however you like, but sexualizing kids in fiction is horrific. I can’t believe you would defend that.

I’m sorry that strucks you the wrong way… I strictly separate anime content from real content. I’m strictly against any form of real sexualisation of kids. This is line no one should cross.

That’s a me thing and I sincerely understand you that you don’t like this. I mean I don’t like this game either thought I enjoy some comedy anime in this direction, yet they are never so heavily sexualized like this and have most of the time charming characters you want to follow not this junk here.

I don’t like this content here and I’m not mad this is not coming to xbox. I would’ve never played it.

I hate to break it to you, but anime content is real content. I don’t care if you give them the backstory of a 1000 year old witch. If they look like a 6th grader and you sexualize them then it’s straight-up wrong. Anime/Manga or not.

Are drawings the same as real human beings, no of course not. It’s still wrong and I don’t give a shit if it’s legal at the moment. It’s not in Australia I believe and more need to follow suit.

I guess we disagree on this one. Maybe because I’m not a parent or maybe because I’m still on the younger side concerning my age.

Maybe my view will change, but for now I can’t pretend to feel otherwise.

Sorry.

I find it interesting to hear other opinions about it thought.

For the record I don’t like this overly young looking characters, even I cringe at that bit I accept it.

Thanks for keeping it cordial. As a father to a 12 year old daughter this one is a major thing for me.
