£249 is absolutely bonkers price, I was sure it would match Euro/Dollar at £299.

Going to grab XSS for the main TV room and the XSX for the gaming room.
I hope this means the flood gates are open and Devs and everybody can talk up next gen.

There was a leak that the PS5 BOM was $450.
Lets give the benefit of the doubt and say the PS5de is $430.
Now add retailer cut of 10% = $43 shipping and packaging costs = $10
It would cost sony $483 to sell PS5de
Now if they do take the $84 loss and sell 8million of them thats a $672 million loss.
If they sell at $429 thats a $54 loss per unit, and a total loss of $432 million.
These are big losses and its not factoring marketing and R+D costs.
Also the $450 BOM PS5 leak seem awefully low considering the PS5 has 16gb G6 and 12 high speed ssd chips, and its a bulky moma.
Feels like Xbox have different marketing teams. One for software and the other one for hardware.
I wonder if Series X will really comes in at $499 That seems so cheap for what you get.
Also don’t expect games bundled with those consoles for quite some time.
That is indeed the case. In addition to that and as far I am aware they also have a different team for partner games marketing and MS studio marketing too.

Those specs for $299 is absolutely INSANE! These will be bought up just as fast as MS can make them!

It’s going to play all the next gen games, just at a lower resolution (i assume we will see many 1080p games,right?) and lower framerate but still has all the things XSX offers too? Damn, soon they are gonna make me change my mind and get XSS instead.
Kidding of course, i want the very best for my C9 OLED, but still.

XSS for what it is is insane value and will sell like hotcakes with such a price and Xbox All Access. As soon as preorders are open gonna grab one SS + one SX
And of course games having a great deal better visual bells and whistles on XSX. 
Maybe - but I’m not convinced by that - what headroom over and above 3/4X the pixel could will you have on the SX? I guess for games running below 4K maybe…
