Xbox Series S OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED, $299, £249. 512 GB NVME SSD, 60% Smaller than XSX, 1440p up to 120 FPS, Ray-Tracing, All Digital and More

But according to Arthur Gies things have changed since this report. I guess anything can happen and at the end of the day we all win really, the lower the price the better for us. But I can’t see them having the PS5 DE even near Series S price.

Nope not gonna happen unless they want to go bankrupt. As it’s the same as PS5 just without a disc

This is amazing guys! Seeing this I wish I wasn’t so much into graphics, as this would be amazing at that price! I might even go for it after all, we’ll see. Big big congratulations to Microsoft for everything regarding this console.

I remember some people speculating this would launch at 399 USD haha

DirectML on Xbox and DLSS on RTX this coming generation gonna play a major role in dictating the fact that Native resolution shall be a relic of the past

PS5 DE will never hit the $399 price point
Bigger and more expensive SSD
Bigger and more expensive packaging
Bigger and more expensive memory setup
Bigger and more expensive SOC
Bigger and more expensive cooling solution
Bigger and more expensive other electronic components
More expensive controller

We still don’t know if Series X or PS5 will be more expensive, PS5 DE getting to $399 is a pipe dream with all we know about Series S

Yep. You nailed it. DirectML will be a big proponent to push the visual fidelity even further

I think sony are going to really struggle to price PS5de at $399.

Microsoft have cut the ssd to 512gb, supposedly have a much smaller SoC @ 4tflops, about 44% less ram @10gb and no disc drive. Sony are only saving about $20 on no disc drive. If I were Jim Ryan I would be worried.

Who would of though next gen would have the most powerful console and the best value, its utter brilliance. Sony not innovating and wanting to stick with the norm will always be there weakness.

Sony could go $399, but they will be taking a $100-150 loss which I dont think would be viable.

It’s really great but I would have added some Cyberpunk and Gears Tactics at the end when it shows some games.

Thr Dual Sense must cost a lot too.

It was designed to lie flat, just take a look at the orientation of the logo on the power button, XSX it’s in the correct position when vertical on the XSS it’s right when horizontal.

I definitely don’t think it will either but I’ve seen many post thinking it’s viable for Sony. I think they will both be $499 and maybe even more.

Oh, my bad on that Arthur Gies tweet. I had not seen the question yet. One person there wonders if PS5 has changed specs wise, but that…i really, really doubt. I don’t think it works like that. Does it?

Not a lot, but an additional $10 over the Xbox controller in BOM, yes. Nothing about the PS5 DE screams cheap. It’s just a regular PS5 with a different shroud and no 4K UHD Blue-Ray player.

From the begging I said Series S would only hit $299 with a smaller SSD. But 512GB is no issue, if PS5 is only 825GB It’s “just” 38% less space.

i wonder if they’ll have a 512gb memory expansion thing too

Not at this point, consoles will have started production back in july. I think sony would even have trouble reducing the SSD size because of the way its been designed.

Excellent power for an excellent price. The GBP price is absolute insanity.

I see.

Then I really wonder what Arthur means. He says no to the lower prices for PS5 and PS5 DE question but things have changed since this info was handed off, he says. Wonder what.

£250 here in the UK jesus christ, if they market it right it will sell shitloads! UK about to become Xbox land again.
