Xbox multi platform discussion

if xbox interviews are meaningless why are you reading these articles or discussing it? makes no sense.

One also sees a smart-ass attitude given the deal with Lego. So other than anything Lego, what other SONY in-house games do you see coming to Xbox (PC is not Xbox)

Tango and Austin sucked, I give you that. I think that could have been handled much better.

This said the context was significantly different. It’s not a president publicly announcing X is happening but conjecture.

Xbox are making a next gen console that is confirmed.

Indy is still technically a timed exclusive right?

Oh, sorry, I didn’t realise you’d immediately move the requirements to fit into your world view.

I don’t know mate, they’ve not announced anything. But day and date on PC isn’t far away, and after the massive black hole caused by Concord, I expect money-making to be the order of the day sooner rather than later.

I see you didn’t take my comment on the poor attitude you’re displaying seriously. Best change that - you have been warned nicely.

This is true but it’s also doing well in the short term, but in medium long term for hardware nothing is certain

They haven’t exactly ported their big hitters as of yet I doubt the laymen casual has noticed Xbox games are making their way over to PlayStation. COD is basically as it was same with Doom,

When/if the decide to port gears halo etc that will get some attention & once those laymen’s decide they can get everything in one place it makes their choice easier.

No talk of a new console system

HH is a few years away

To give you full credit that’s a nice response and full respect to you for it. I just doubt we will any major in-house SONY game coming over to Xbox

Out of interest which do you include as major in-house games? The majority of their exclusives these days are developed by external studios.

MLB and Destiny is already on Xbox. Marathon is coming to Xbox.

Spider-Man is a licensed game, therefore another publisher could get the licence in future (ABK had it before).

So God of War, Gran Turismo, Horizon and Last of Us?

Guys, if you can afford it and you don’t mind, move to PC.

It’s what MS wants (PC GP being cheaper is pretty telling) but you will get all Xbox games as well as Playstation ones without having to buy Playstation consoles.

I’m going PC + Switch 2 again as soon as I can.

It’s kinda strange to see all the drama and this thread bump whenever someone from MS opens the mouth. They will make whatever makes more money for the business and I wouldn’t be surprised if that eventually includes ditching Xbox consoles altogether.

This is my piece of advice, PC is a way more futureproof ecosystem than Xbox/PS.

I have a good PC now with W11 and got back to playing some games there and even if I appreciate the boost in performances and that I can play any game I want, even older games especially old RTS and FPS, it will never be the same plug and play experience of the console. Too much buttons to click and things to take care of before playing a game and I can’t manage my 150 games library on a PC, that’s just not happening. My Xbox can handle that perfectly and get me started in like 20 seconds of starting the console.

Just my 2 cents but you can play both PC and Xbox how you see fit regarding your playstyle and mood. That’s actually the direction MS and Xbox are going in and that’s awesome, but Xbox consoles still have a place in that future.

Edit : I checked and I have 117 games installed, not 150, but my point still stands.

But what happens to Steam after Gaben? Will the company still remain private? or will it be like every other company (it already is mind you) become even more profit focussed?

What happens if streaming becomes the way to play in around 10 years and Steam has no interest in expanding to cloud? What happens when publishers like Microsoft and Sony keep cloud rights of their games to themselves?

At the moment, PC is the best of all worlds but there are no guarantees about the future. Steam is not too big to fail.

PC is guaranteed because of :pirate_flag: tbh, not Steam lol

Xbox is a gaming ecosystem and not just a plastic box under your TV.

The sooner more of you realize that the better you can handle things.

At some point local processing plastic boxes to play games wont be a thing. Just like how you can watch movies and listen to music without a dedicated piece of hardware.

Xbox is setting itself up for a post hardware world and when that happens your games and game saves and Xbox profile will be safe not being tied to single pieces of hardware where the ebb and flow of hardware sales could negatively impact you.

Xbox is making sure hardware sales and a post hardware world doesnt mean you lose everything youve spent on Xbox.

Im very happy about that and dont give a flying fuck if PS users get some Xbox games which in turn makes the Xbox ecosystem healthier anyway by having a larger pool of consumers to sell to.

I feel like all my old :skull_and_crossbones: haunts have died off. But maybe im looking in the wrong places.

I am fine with Xbox going multiplateform

However if they want Xbox to become a multiplaterform ecosystem, in order to be consistant and making it an appealing advantage, they should push for generalising play anywhere under Xbox, at least for their own IP.

And, in the end, delete de paywall for online play on Xbox consoles

Ngl, seeing halo on every platform will make me change of plateform for the next generation if I don’t see at least one of those points become a reality in the next years

So another Spencer interview, and I see people are back to doom and gloom?

It’s basically just a repeat of previous interviews, nothing new in terms of « Xbox going full 3rd party mode » like I’ve seen in Colt Eastwood’s clickbait video. Phil is basically just saying what they’ve said before using different words, there really isn’t much to take from it here.

The most interesting tidbits were the handheld as well as the 1000$ console comment and potentially more acquisitions.

The rest was just reheated leftovers.

I do believe he says they are building towards that buying your games and being able to play it on PC and Cloud. In my opinion I think they should just merge the Xbox and the app so you have your library following you.

Would be an incredible win for all Xbox players

Just hope it will not take 5 years for their own IP to reach this goal
