Imagine this on a constant basis but with Xbox franchises. It’s time to let the ABK marketing team take charge of all of Xbox marketing!

Not all games are CoD, doesn’t matter if it was Activision or Xbox, you’re not getting this level of marketing for every franchise

Marketing budgets are pretty much dictated by how many copies a publisher thinks a game will sell / revenue it will generate.

So yeah, when the worst selling CoD in recent years is still selling 20 million copies, it will inevitably have a huge marketing budget behind it.

Activision is really doing nothing that special with the marketing of CoD, they just have a shit ton of money to throw around.

I agree that no other IP is getting this level of marketing, and I think the only other game would possibly be a mario game. Anyways, I think Microsoft games could still get decent marketing like advertise elder scrolls 6 at time square and at other major cities. I am unsure if even Starfield got that treatment, but Microsoft should def advertise their games at major cities. I’ve always found it odd when I see advertisement for Playstation games in Toronto, but rarely for Microsoft games. For example even Deathloop had a billiboard in Toronto, but I rarely see that for a Microsoft game.

Oh I agree MS should do more with many of their games, just that people shouldn’t expect every game to get this kind of treatment, even if ABK were running things

Starfield had this level of marketing. I think the next Bethesda RPG (ES 6 ?) and Blizzard game will get similiar levels of marketing.

Yeah, I agree about those games. Honestly, they should give forza horizon 6 , gears 6, and even dormant franchises like fable and perfect dark that treatment . Say what you want about those dormant franchises but they still hold weight in gamers mind imo

Gears is the one that will need to be pushed. Forza is doing well right now, but for Gears they need to make Gears 6 release an event.

Funnily enough, Yonge Dundas square had massive Forza Motorsport ads but nothing for Starfield. I wonder if Bethesda has less boots on the ground here marketing wise and would benefit from MS Canada taking charge like Sony did.

I think Deathloop is a special case, there’s a good chance that whatever deal they signed had some level of marketing spend on behalf of Sony associated with it. I don’t know that Bethesda would have been putting up billboards on their own.

Wow, I didn’t see that one, that’s cool . I usually don’t see stuff , but nice to see they’re doing it now

I think the fact Sony got it as an exclusive to begin with would suggest Bethesda were never 100% sure on it’s success so billboards might have been less likely

Bethesda was in a weak sales spot with the failure of a few games, like Prey, Youngblood. They needed money and Starfield was far away.
