Wait Forza Motorsport is getting its own show?

I expect it to be like FH5. There was a 2 minute trailer at the showcase, then a deeper look and interview at the extended showcase and more infos at Forza Monthly shortly afterwards.

I believe the showcase is prerecorded but they are holding an event over LA with the staff in present.

What’s very exciting especially about this show is the fact that Starfield and Forza are getting their own dedicated shows, that probably means they won’t take much or any space in the main event, so many projects they could put in there, hope anything aiming for 2025 shows up.

Media didn’t love it. A few weird sites went to damage control for Sony probably for fear if they didn’t they’d lose access.

Most mainstream media said it was ‘ok to disappointing’ or somewhere in that range which I’d say is fair. The show was ok. We all know if Xbox announced a bunch of live service titles with CGI only trailers and no sense as to what the games will be we’d have headline after headline saying they were about to close Xbox and that Xbox has nothing to offer gamers etc etc…

I mean we had the biggest media outlets in gaming and even some outside gaming like Yahoo giving it A+ reviews. IGN gave it a 9/10. The media bent over backwards for the showcase reviews.

At least kinda funny didn’t. They were pretty fair about it. 2/5 and 3/5 were the hosts grades. Kinda funny in general seems to be less doombaity than others.

Nick said he has heard about Mortal Kombat 1 to appear on PS Showcase long before but he wasn’t too sure if it sticks since it can change. It’s possible that games that supposed to show up changed plan or go elsewhere like MK1. He’s only theorizing though but really, that could be it. That said it doesn’t mean first party only.

For me, this is what I WANT to see.

1. Forza MS with release date.
2. Project Midnight. From what has been released about this game, I think it could be a sneaky good game. Really interested to see what Compulsion can do with a good budget and time.
3. Project Cobalt. A steam punk game? Yes sir. Now I dont care for Wasteland, but this is right down my alley.
4. Contaband. Been long enough. I live Avalanche, im intrigued.
5. State of Decay 3. I have a feeling that SOD3 is going to blow peoples mind from a graphics point of view. The step up is going to be massive, and I love Zombie games. Its been enough time as well.
6. Hellblade 2. Give us a 2023 release date.
7. Avowed. Its been enough time now, and if its going to release next year we want to see what it looks like now.
8. Indiana Jones. Again, enough time and we want to know when its releasing and if its exclusive.
9. Fable. Again, enough time, lets get a look at it.
10. Perfect Dark. Same as Fable. Its been long enough.
11. Zenimax Onlines new IP. This game has been in development for 3 or 4 years now, with a large number of devs working on it. I think its right to show what they have been working on.

I think this is what I want to see, and I think its prettt reasonable to get it. Will that all be there? I dont think so. I fear that after the horror show that was the Sony Showcase, MS might think they dont need to show everything and then pull some stuff back for a later time. Most likely to be not there from my list is Project Cobalt, Fable, Perfect Dark and Imdiana Jones.

Welcome! I don’t think MS will show anything too far out. I think they’ll have more than enough to show and there will be plenty of indie and 3rd party gamepass stuff to balance things out. Maybe, hopefully.

Like I been saying Forza Motorsport, Starfield, Hellblade 2 and Avowed are more than enough and are conservative predictions.

Yep. Forza Motorsport, Hellblade 2, Starfield, and Avowed gameplay aren’t unrealistic at all and if they show well, will easily be a better show than Sony’s Showcase. Hell, Forza Motorsport and Starfield are already confirmed.

In addition, I want to see gameplay for Wandering Tower and Compulsions’game. But I wouldn’t be terribly let down if they aren’t there.

There is a big difference in announcing a brand new game and IP with just a short CGI trailer…I think that’s bad generally as it’s hard to get a handle on what it is….and showing an in engine but not gameplay thing for say Fable…

I’m not of course suggesting fable shows up…it won’t. But it’s more that it’s a known ip and showing something in engine that isn’t gameplay would be killer.

The problem with Sonys show is they showed all these new live service games with CGI trailers that tell us nothing about them. Nobody has a clue what these games are.
