Would be neat if those Asobo rumors produce some tangible results and Asobo produces something to fill Need for Speed niche or at least Gotham Racing with cities, circuits and tuning. Forza Horizon has all of it already, but I would like to have something more linear but in a different countries and locations.
Then Microsoft would have all racing niches occupied.
Let’s see if anything changes in 2023 when they will have more content.
2023 would be a great year to bring back Inside Xbox since Xbox will be releasing a lot of games next year. And if they do bring it back I just hope there’s less interviews at least during the main show and more of a showcase on the games.
I always thought it would be cool if they brought back inside but had it linked to 1st party releases. like inside redfall inside pentimate inside starfield (30 to 45 min on each game). then have a show every quarter with game updates and thats inside xbox where we get game updates and things people want to hear about like game pass updates. u.i updates etc. hell they could even do a inside fallout 76 and minecraft so they dont take up time at main shows. then in june there is no inside xbox just xbox games showcase at e3
I think a lot of people to this day seem to misunderstand what Inside Xbox was and compare it to Direct or State of Play. It was just meant to at best be a streamed version of Xbox magazine. Meant to recap what was already shown and cover the smaller non E3 stuff that was coming out. The biggest thing announced there was the Obsidian acquisition if I remember correctly.
Inside Xbox was bad. Hope it stays dead and buried. Instead, starting in 2023, they should have quarterly shows simply called Xbox Direct. Yeah, it’s a rip off but who gives a shit? It works. Just give me 20-30 minutes of one or two AAA titles, a few AA/Indies and at least one reveal and boom, done.
Also, starting in 2023, they could have Xbox Direct: (insert individual game title here) which would focus on just a single title with a full in depth look at the game. Similar to what Sony dd with Horizon, Returnal, Ratchet, Demon’s Souls and what Nintendo has done for most of their first party titles as well.
All digital, all pre-recorded and no studio bullshit. Just show me the games, give me information about them and done.
They have already mentioned it a few times inside Xbox was suppose to be a more casual gamer focused show which is why it was more chatty than showing E3 level trailers and announcements. People got the wrong idea about it being Xbox’s Nintendo directs and it seems like it’s stilling happening now. It doesn’t help when they had no studios and exciting games in the pipeline that they could even casually talk about.
That’s actually hilarious if they now have to pay Sony tens of millions of dollars after years of playing along. It’s a warning to everyone not to sign deals with Sony because the terms are so impossible to follow.
It’s gotta be a breach of contract but it could also have been a mistake from the graphics design team, it happens with Sony themselves so it’s probably not gonna be a big deal.
I doubt Sony would care about Xbox being listed in the artwork, as it’s a private building. But yeah, it being shown publically is a bit of an oopsie. They had to blur Deathloop concept art that was on the wall behind Dinga in the Bethesda roundtable last year.
Still, I don’t think Sony will make too much of a fuss.
Daaaaamn, that’s a long ass time! But we do know that a lot of time also went into getting a team together, right? Still, around the time it finally comes out it will have had HZD levels of development time. Probably way more.
