Located in Redmond, Washington, Turn 10 Studios is the creator of the Forza franchise and the developer of the Forza Motorsport series of games.

Turn 10 is a division of Microsoft Games Studios and was established in 2001 as a first-party game developer. The studio’s first game – the original Forza Motorsport – launched in May 2005. With an emphasis on cutting edge simulation and showcasing both Xbox Live as well as the Xbox hardware, the game launched to critical acclaim. It quickly gathered a passionate automotive community, known equally for its driving skill and artistic creativity. Since then, the series has become a favorite for gamers and automotive enthusiasts around the world. Forza’s official Esports series, the Forza Racing Championship, launched in 2016, featuring the best drivers in the world competing in Forza Motorsport games to become the ForzaRC champion. RARE: A 35-YEAR RECAP

Established in 1985 to focus on the expanding console market, we partnered with Nintendo and quickly sealed a reputation for quality with titles including Battletoads , Donkey Kong Country and GoldenEye .

The acquisition of Rare by Microsoft Game Studios came about in 2002 after a colossally successful run of titles throughout the 1990s. We went on to support the Xbox 360 debut with two of the three launch games, Kameo: Elements of Power and Perfect Dark Zero . Subsequent years saw us innovate with Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts , the addictive Viva Piñata franchise and our pioneering work on Xbox 360 Avatars.

In more recent years our investigations into cutting-edge motion control resulted in the multi-million-selling, double BAFTA-winning Kinect Sports series. With development now firmly established for Xbox One and Windows 10, we’re still hard at work here in our custom-built English countryside HQ. Galvanised by the opportunity to celebrate our heritage with the Rare Replay anniversary collection, we followed it up with our most ambitious undertaking to date: creating a world of legendary pirate adventures for players to tackle together in Sea of Thieves. Then came X019 in London and the unveiling of Rare’s very latest world of wonder, Everwild.

MEET MOJANG STUDIOS

We have a new name, a new logo, and a new trailer!

TOOOT! Sound the annoyingly loud birthday alarm, because it’s Minecraft’s 11th birthday! To celebrate, we thought about eating a lot of block-shaped cake, like last year.

Then we figured, why not unveil a new name, a new logo, and the secret sauce that makes the entire machine run instead? While also eating a lot of cake? Much better! Let’s do that.

But why would we need a new name and logo in the first place? Well, why not? Humans like to reinvent themselves from time to time, so it’s only right that we extend the same courtesy to a company that’s been around for over a decade. I mean, would you still wear the outfit that perfectly defined your style in 2009?

Also, so much has happened since then! From our humble beginnings in Stockholm, we are entering the 20’s as a multi-title, multi-location company. Following Minecraft Earth and Minecraft Dungeons, we’re planning a feature film, preparing an epic live show, and playing with ideas for brand new games.

There are also several studios around the world, all part of Mojang . Which, in a stroke of genius, inspired our new name… drumroll and birthday alarm blareMojang Studios .

Ninja Theory Ltd. was formed in 2004 by four partners, including current Directors Nina Kristensen (Chief Development Director), Tameem Antoniades (Chief Creative Director) and Jez San OBE (Non-Executive Director). The studio pride themselves on striving for the highest production values and continually pushing the boundaries of technology, art and design to create evermore exciting video game experiences.

Ninja Theory are proud to have worked with a long list of collaborators from creative industries outside of video games, including Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings, King Kong, The Hobbit), Alex Garland (The Beach, 28 Days Later), Nitin Sawhney (BBC’s Human Planet), Noisia (Split The Atom) and Combichrist (Making Monsters). The Lab

Undead Labs is a Seattle, Washington-based game development studio that’s on a mission to take gaming in bold new directions. Jeff Strain, an MMO industry veteran, formed the lab in 2009 with the goal of building a creative studio around the most talented developers in the industry. You can read all the details in the Undead Labs formation announcement.

Our talented developers set out first to create the definitive zombie-survival game for gamers. In 2011 the lab partnered with Microsoft Game Studios to publish State of Decay, an open world zombie survival game for PC and Xbox360. By 2015, State of Decay allowed over two million gamers to test their survivalist wits to the ultimate test and fight alongside friends to reclaim the world from the undead hordes.

A small studio in a big industry

Compulsion is 40 people squatting in an old gramophone factory in Saint Henri, Montréal. Founded in 2009, we want to create interesting, fun games that are out of the ordinary. We like to think of ourselves as craftsmen, who create games that we love and are proud of. We make games because we’re excited about them, and about the concepts and ideas they contain (like shadow shifting, or a talking mask).

We make games about real people in sometimes ridiculous worlds, and want to tell stories that aren’t just “I am a prince, look! a monster, I must hit it with a stick (a big one) so it dies”.

Alpha Dog is a boutique game studio creating top-tier 3D games for mobile, PC, and consoles. Would it be an idea if Bethesda is separate from Xbox that they call it Xbox presents Bethesda?

Just to avoid silly ass media that (undoubtedly) will have reports like “Xbox and Bethesda not in one show brings exclusivity in question”? Wouldn’t surprise me one bit.

On the other hand, who gives a fuck, lol.

It’s hard to say what’s the best, there might be hardcore Bethesda fans who couldn’t give a shit about Xbox and won’t tune into a Xbox show just for Bethesda so having a separate show could be good for those people. I do think If Xbox wants to change their image they need to tie themselves with their studios and not be like some weird offshoot.

They really need to make Starfield a Xbox game, I know it’s exclusive and all that but I still don’t think people considered it a “Xbox” game, they considered it more a new Bethesda game for Xbox, that’s gotta change.

Agreed.

That’s why Starfield absolutely needs to make a significant appearance at the Xbox show. But I do think in the near future they will have to have separate streams especially once ActiBlizz joins the family. It will be just too much for one show in June. But it definitely would be wise to always include the Xbox name in there.

Oh yeah for sure, they’ll have to have separate events. Though I still think there will always be something shown at the Xbox event, like for example Starfield will have to be there even if there is a Bethesda event showing it more. All the exclusive or Xbox owned studios will show their games at the Xbox showcase, though it might be shorter trailers with bigger reveals at their own event later.

With all this said I think this is why they hired that event manager recently because it’s going to be tough work organising all of this and this is always going to be a dynamic thing and I don’t think it’ll ever be a set thing so who knows. I just think there will always be a set heart of Xbox show that will always show everything out that year no matter if there is other events or not.

Imagine how starting from next year and on they could have a full day (almost) dedicated to just Xbox. In the afternoon for example ActiBlizz, in the evening Xbox show and a few hours later before midnight Bethesda. Xbox will be on everyone’s mind for that whole day.

I’m just guessing here, but to me the reason there might be two shows is because Xbox may have already too much on its own ( just with XGS before Bethesda came into the picture ). Add to that third party stuff and it might be packed to the limit. Just imagine if Bethesda wants to do a very extended deep-dive into Starfield and RedFall, that might take more than 10 minutes each, maybe it would be too much for MS. What is possible though is MS having a trailer/teaser at their conference, stating to wait for more at Bethesda conference, much like EA has been doing with Battlefield sometimes, a trailer at MS conference, and more at their own.

Starfield is the main event for this year and Im fully expecting it to get the biggest airtime of any game. Followed by Redfall, Forza and Contraband.

Separate shows is perfectly fine

The crossover between people who are interested in the xbox showcase and the bethesda showcase I would imagine is extremely high and if they are doing separate shows then they almost certainly have too much to fit in just the main xbox show, I dont know about everyone else but to me that’s a very good thing :philwins:

All Bethesda need to do after every game is say “coming exclusively to xbox/pc/gamepass” etc

Xbox will likely want both Redfall and Starfield at their bshow though so they will probably have some sort of reveal for both and then big extended showcases at Bethesda’s show

MS may want Bethesda to be seen as Xbox though, like eventually all as one unified brand.

I think Bethesda wants to have a separate show. Let’s see what it can offer. What can envision is

  • Redfall deep dive
  • Starfield deep dive
  • Updates for TESO & FO76
  • Possible announcement from ID (though they usually do it on QuakeCon), MachineGames, Arkane, Zenimax Online

It can be pretty solid 1h or 40m show.

Did Activision even show a lot of games though? It was COD mainly. And Blizzard has its own BlizzCon.

But they do need something like Directs. And I hope it won’t be a talk show aka Twitch.

There’s a very small group of people who care about video game media. If Microsoft wants to split Xbox’s showcase away from the Bethesda one that’s fine and there’s probably a reason for it.

what Gameinformer or what IGN talks about isn’t necessarily what’s the most popular thing in gaming at the moment. Look at how many people play Dota 2…yet if you only got your gaming news from the mainstream, you’d probably think Dota is only a thing during the summer and that League of Legends is the only MOBA.

Wow so the Nvidia leaks seem true. I’d take everything there as accurate now. Including the initial target dates for Gear 6 of Nov 2022 and Hellblade September 2022. Thinking for sure these are 2023 title’s now.

Considering the delays (2022 → 2023) we might be looking at Avowed → Contraband → Hellblade 2 → Gears 6 year.

I don’t buy the dates in the leak at all, likely just placeholder dates.
