Xbox Game Studios |OT9| How many games would a game studio make if a game studio could make games?

Yes, but I think that while we will have full online games fully taking advantage of this(MMOs, BGs, Arena ect) singleplayer games will also feature this in the future, where they have a natuve version made to take advantage of the hardware. But that can be connected online like flight sim to give an even better experience.

That is all well and good. The day I see it implemented on a regular basis, Ill get excited.

I mean pretty much everyone is playing online and connected today I think there will be more frequent cloud exclusives because we can literally push all the limits of hardware and create new genres of games never before explored . We must not seek to slow down the evolution the Cloud is probably the biggest generational Gap since 3D is what Phil Spencer meant when passing from the previous generation to this one. We could see Cloud Computing partially used

In Crackdown 3 destruction at the base (but the game changed developers along the way)

It also seems to me that they use or had talked about using Cloud Computing for Sea of Thieves water

And of course Flight Simulator

But this is just the beginning of the technology and these games are not entirely built on the Cloud Kim Swift explains it here

I get that, and I’m looking forward to it, but a fully cloud only games future is going to drive away people who still buy disc(even if that’s like 10% on Xbox), people who don’t have the best connection or have data caps and can’t stream games, people who perfer playing mostly offline and all other people who an online only future just isn’t something they want.

Which is why I think a hybrid approach where we get a game that is playable on the ever improving hardware, but improved beyond what the hardware could do(like Nvidias new tes video) with a cloud component is going to be the more used approach.

But I also think like with Pearl Abyss there are going to be a lot of games that are fully connected and take full advantage of having the cloud to do so many things that hybrid games even with the cloud just won’t be able to do.

We are probably talking about + 5 years before the first full Cloud games become democratized (Technically Eve Online is already a Full Cloud game) technology is evolving quickly, connections are getting better too I think it’s the future of video games

Well, somebody has to pay the bill for Azure compute hours. Who is?

Sony

Funny.

But Sony certainly will not pay the bills for 3rd party stuff or Kojimas game on Azure.

I do believe cloud is part of the gaming future but I see it more like 5-10 years time. Internet speeds just aren’t up to or yet imo. Even in so called rich countries.

It could have but I still hope it’s successful.

Hopefully one day it will happen. But I don’t think Xbox will make a handheld anytime soon and that’s why they are partnering with Logitech.

Redfalls gonna be a game where people think it’s alright, then later on an amazing game Lool. As usual with arkane games.

Also it’s gonna get unfairly criticised. Cyberpunk exposed how many YouTuber “reviewers” are straight up shills.

I feel like I’m the only person who kind of finds the “Bugthesda” thing kind of fun in some ways. Sure, I don’t want my game to crash completely or lock out quests, but the sliding moose mentioned earlier? That’s funny and nothing that kills my enjoyment of a Bethesda game. I hope Starfield launches clean, but even if it doesn’t I’m still there day one to see what they’ve cooked up.

I found Fallout 4 relatively clean and polished, but with sometimes questionable performance (played around 2 months after release iirc) but then again I think I’m lucky when it comes to bugs and glitches lol

I’m a sucker for funny bugs, State of Decay is hilarious. I remember driving my car down a road and randomly being shot across the map and hit the ground and exploded and my character died and I lost some good stuff but the way it all happened had me in tears of laughter. I know in most cases people would lose thier shit over something like that and I guess rightfully so but I find stupid stuff like that funny and it’s just a game after all.

Save bugs and bugs that stop you from progressing or losing progression are never funny or good though.

Cyberpunk is crysis 2.0. Game is the benchmark for high end cards and will be for a while
