Xbox Game Studios |OT9| How many games would a game studio make if a game studio could make games?

I don’t know why this is so hard to understand, just mix all the games, no one will care.

Separating the publishers makes no sense.

But I don’t get what Bethesda has other than Starfield and Redfall that justifies an entire separate event right after the Xbox event? Sure they might have an event or stream something closer to Redfall and Starfield laucnh but I don’t think there will be 2 E3 events for Xbox and Bethesda.

Maybe for some reason Bethesda still cares, that is unfortunate IMO, but maybe that is why the no-brainer merger of the show hasn’t happened, and Phil isn’t going to force the issue of course.

I think what should matter the most is that Xbox has a lot of content planned for the future. It shouldn’t matter if a conference is under Bethesda or Xbox, you will see Xbox games and that’s great.

oh right i get what you mean from bethesdas side of it

Maybe the other teams will have something like machine games or iD + eso/76 but who knows

Indiana Jones baby, let’s get it!

Yeah, I wish.

On a serious note I do wonder when we can realistically expect a update on it. MachineGames has a great track record.

Starfield 20-30 minutes, Redfall 10-15 minutes, TESO & FO76, announcements from Zenimax Online, Machine games etc.

Maybe a snippet from Roundhouse too.

Ok then what are they gonna show at the Xbox showcase? They’ll have almost nothing.

They’ve got a lot that they can show. They don’t have a ton releasing in 2022 but 2023?

Bethesda or Xbox? Xbox will probably show

  • Avowed
  • Contraband
  • Forza Motorsport (with Dan Greenawalt demoing)
  • Third party announcements
  • Forza Horizon 5 updates
  • Grounded updates
  • Sea of Thieves update
  • Indies
  • some future announcements (Compulsion for example)
  • some Game Pass announcements etc.

If they want to sell Gamepass/Xbox they need to unite every publisher under one banner, it’s an obvious marketing plan.

Associate everything with Gamepass/Xbox so people know exactly where to go, no confusion.

Avowed could get a nice few minutes of gameplay, shit I’d like that a lot. And if FM is happening this year they will show that too I’m sure.

I want one show, but if this is what they present, especially with the Compulsion game being there, then okay two shows wouldn’t be that bad for me.

I am pretty sure that during Bethesda showcase they will have Game Pass and Xbox labels there (and sometimes Playstation for multiplatform stuff)

You don’t see Playstation announcing games for Xbox even if it does come out for it. If this does indeed happen it’s just another failure in the brand’s marketing.

I personally don’t remember if Sony shows Xbox platform for third party games (if they are not time exclusive or exclusive)

None of the three will mention other platforms if they announce a game at their own showcase for obviously good reason.

Yeah even if they show some games that will be multiplat, I wouldn’t mention playstation at all

Plaster xbox/gamepass logos and nothing else, when people see Bethesda’s games going forward they should automatically associate them with xbox, ditching any mention of playstation is the best way of doing that

I wonder when xbox will be able to start advertising Deathloop, I know it’s not available for at least a year but does that include marketing also

I dunno, if you’re going to make a first party game multiplatform then what is the point of hiding it?

I’d understand marketing deals, since the goal there is to associate the game with your platform. If your own game is multi you’re obviously more interested in sales of that game than you are in using it to boost the platform. You’d be doing yourself a disservice if people thought ESO was no longer supported on PS (for example)
