Xbox Game Studios |OT9| How many games would a game studio make if a game studio could make games?

I don’t care too much about COD being exclusive, and care more about it launching on gamepass.

Guys you think Fable will have a predetermined story character (at best male or female choice)? or go full RPG with it?

I don’t think (and hope) it’ll have a character creator. Male and female works for me, give me proper vocals. I think Fable is hoping to be closer to a Horizon than it is a Skyrim personally.

Well I hope closer to Witcher 3 than Horizon, Horizon is lite on almost all its RPGness that’s it’s very debatable to call it an RPG.

Yeah, I’m good with that too lol. Just threw out what came to my mind.

I expect that there will be a predetermined role but I really hope that we get to create our look and personality. don’t want it to be a Geralt type character, I’d prefer it to be more like the Inquisitor from DAI.

im sort of the opposite I hope our character speaks and there is dialog. Im not a big fan of the main character not talking. it does turn out good in some games but mybe we get it like mass effect where we can make our character but they still have a voice and dialog. Im also not expecting a super deep narritive since fable was kind of kiddy. If it did end up looking like fable legends id be ok with that

I know what your saying but lets be honest and I love fable one its not to serious. im not expecting the witcher but a story on the vein of kena for example.

I’m not sure what Kena is like, but Fable even though it doesn’t appear mature and serious, it is, on some level; it’s in the dialogue and themes of it.

I get that but im not expecting a mass effect/ witcher narritive is all im saying. I believe in playground and I do think the game is going to be awesome still

The thing is that they don’t need to do any of that in the first place. No regulator will be able to prove that COD is essential to Playstation. Not a single one. They did it just to make the deal pass faster, but as we saw - Sony is acting in bad faith just like usual. And there is no mention if Sony agreed to sign the document - and actually they cannot do (sign or offer) that until the deal is closed anyway.

Would be hilarious if Sony agreed to the deal and still decided to complain to regulators. But as we see from Phil’s responses - Microsoft is kinda angry.

Basically the reason why Microsoft did that is because they don’t want to drag the deal for too long - they would eventually win (nobody would be able to prove that the market leader who has its own subscription service with exclusive marketing deals and benefts will somehow die without COD) but it would take too much time. They were willing to make some concessions to Sony, but it seems like Sony does not want to play nice (and honestly anybody could expect that, not sure what Microsoft expected there)

Then in the case that Sony didn’t accept the agreement, once the deal closes MS could basically do whatever they want from there. And that will all be on Sony.

I agree. The cool thing is that Microsoft can easily lean on public opinion there because who would argue against COD in Game Pass (F&F) in the current economic environment? Especially when Sony increased the console prices…

Microsoft is just trying to close the deal fast. But it seems like Sony wants to stall it long enough as with ABK deal Microsoft would be stuck for months or years and wouldn’t be able to proceed. And Microsoft in a rush because they want to be the first to the market and get as many IPs as possible.

Because if they are stuck other companies will grab studios and publishers that Microsoft could be interested in. But there is a limit of what Microsoft can agree too. Sony has always been a very bad actor.

Yeah, I am not surprised to be honest. Even with such an agreement they still act like they are doing, it’s such a Sony thing. I guess this isn’t all about MS playing nice, they are not dumb. They probably knew there was a big chance Sony would not sign any agreement and try to block such a deal, but now they ARE the actual good guy once the deal closes. They can say they tried all they could now. This is assuming of course that Sony did not sign any agreement.

I remember earlier this year Sony being all “we expect MS to honor all existing contracts.” but then try to stall or cancel the deal. It really is just such a Sony thing to do.

And yeah, let’s hope it closes soon, hopefully not many obstacles left.

How does Sony have any fans left. Detestable company. MS should use their financial power to bully these tools. Use the Power if G.I.D(GET IT DONE)

enough of pandering around

oh and no news on Deathloop for Xbox…

Exclusivity ends on the 14th I think someone said here last week? Wonder if that’s really the case, since the trailers said “exclusive until at least…” I wasn’t aware of a exact end to the exclusivity. But hopefully it’s true, so that hopefully we finally just hear something about a Xbox version, sigh.

Kena’s story was more dark and mature than vast majority expected it to be especially if you’re going based on just how bright, lush and colorful it looks. If Fable is similar to Kena in this regard, I wouldn’t mind it at all. It would be looks “cute” on the surface but underneath, not so much.

With that said, I would prefer to see a far darker and mature story like The Witcher 3.

I mean it won’t be mentioned until at least 14th of September. And we don’t know the deal was structurized. It might as well be similar to RE Village.

Microsoft should stop be magnanimous with Sony. Sony has no legal clout in any shape or form.

With Deathloop going on PlayStation Plus Extra later this month, im thinking the user here who said he believes that there will be a DLC or spin off is probably going to end up being right. Have games launched on PlayStation Plus or Game Pass at or around the same time? If not, then I wouldn’t expect it any time soon. Especially since it said timed until “at least” 9/14/22. The at least part tells me that there’s some other clauses in the contract.
