I think Phil interviewing someone about the game they are about to release is a good format. I hope he does it again with pentiment for example
He should do it with every first party game… Great to cater the hardcore xbox audience which loves him
Brings a strong message that every executive is in this by heart of gaming
Thanks for sharing the article that compared the Minecraft Legends to Pikmin. That got me way more interested in the game (although I didn’t care for Pikmin 3).
The article mentions that the dev team isn’t ready to show the versus mode. Pikmin 2 had a pretty wild versus mode where each player commanded separate armies of Pikmin that would just brutally beat each other to death. It was unusually violent for a Nintendo game.
Can’t wait to see what the coalition has been working on.
Pentiment will shock everyone and steal GOTY away from Elden ring.
It will prove that you don’t need AAA cinematic graphics to win GOTY.

Imagine if it did win GOTY lol

I think Hades already proved that but I would love Pentiment to win ![]()
Do you guys expect Starfield to get another big showing sometime this year? And if not, do you expect they will hold some kind of dedicated stream for it before it releases in the first half of next year? Everything has been highly unusual for BGS ever since they announced Starfield and TES VI a few years ago, so it’s hard to tell. But I’m curious what the expectation here is.
Maybe a dedicated stream isn’t even needed. They could also just drop a longer video ala how Rockstar has done it ever since RDR. On the other hand, after Fallout 4 deep dive, did we get a lot of additional trailers and things? I’m pretty sure we didn’t get a second deep dive. Time between reveal and release was way shorter though.
There certainly be another Starfield showcase later. When? That’s the question. I guess until they fix the build they won’t show anything.

No idea, tbh. They could have a dedicated stream, they could coordinate with press and have them write previews (like Halo Infinite), they could do something we haven’t seen before.
I’m just not going to worry about it, they’ll come back to us when they are ready to.
I wonder if XO makes a return this year and if so, it would be very nice if BGS is there but like you said, it will depend on if they have fixed the build yet.
Yeah, there are several ways they can market it further and show new stuff. If there’s an XO this year but it’s not there a new trailer at TGA would be really nice where they show how much improvement has been made since E3. As nice as it would be I personally don’t think that will happen this year. Next year I can see them releasing new trailers showing the game, maybe a dedicated stream like they had for SoT and also FH5 last year. It’s probably going to depend on whether it gets delayed further or not. In the case of a delay there is no rush to have any kind of stream.
But they said first half of next year, instead of simply 2023, so let’s hope they manage to do it. Starting next year I will anxiously await the gone gold announcement.
I don’t think we see Starfield in any meaningful form (Into The Starfield doesn’t count) until they have a release date, whether that’s at XO or TGAs or wherever. Then, I think a month or two out from the date we get a longer deep dive showcase.
I hope Redfall has the amount of variety that Borderlands skills can have. I’m replaying Borderlands 2 right now having a ton of fun, and I just picked up borderlands 3 ultimate edition on steam. Maybe Redfall could bring over some of the Borderlands community over to Xbox/PC, they just need to put the time and quality into it.
From what we’ve seen so far, each character has entirely different ability sets. I definitely think there will be inherent variety to the gameplay, not only in what character you choose but in how you spec your character. Each character has different ability trees and skill paths.
Huh? Plenty of borderlands players on Xbox let alone PC.
