Xbox Game Studios |OT9| How many games would a game studio make if a game studio could make games?

You’re right, and we’re seeing that right now with basically the entire industry delaying their games out of 2022.

I just think that studios deserve patience and understanding. Even without the current difficulties, games are more expensive and take longer to develop than ever, and that isn’t going to change.

Exactly, Hellbade was the earliest announced (besides Everwild) and we’ve seen the most of it. I genuinely believe they are aiming for Fall 2023.

I think Avowed will be after that, then either Fable or Perfect Dark (whichever is furthest along), then The Outer Worlds 2, then State of Decay 3 and Everwild.

I am still wonder about Hellblade marketing considering their tweets about bird poop

I would hardly call that tweet “marketing” haha, they’re just trying to illustrate how detailed their engine is.

True , But no, neither you nor I, we do not know the truth about the postponement. Is it a commercial aspect by avoiding the release of mw2 at the end of the year or other big games such as diablo 4 calisto protocol, re4 remake etc…

It is better to bring back X0 this year to show an update on games like everwild hellblade + in addition to the gamepass deals :+1:t4:

Does everyone forget what they said? They made a vertical slice first and then went into full production. It’s why they had something great to show very early in development

COD releases in the same window every year, no game is getting delayed to avoid it. They are getting delayed because they aren’t done.

Delays are an industry wide thing… Sony has literally delayed all of it’s big releases, don’t know people say it’s only a MS thing.

Because it happened that Sony’s delays allowed them to have games every year basically due to coincidence. Now they will wrap the year with GoW but due to delays they had Horizon, GT7 and Ghostwire in the beginning of this year. Next year they will start with FF7R P1, Forspoken and FF16 for example (and all of those was delayed - aside FF7R but we don’t know yet)

That’s not my point, no need for the list war.

It is not a list war. I am just saying why people say that Microsoft has problems with the delays while Sony does not.

People don’t consider that Xbox’s 1st party timeline started 2018-19, or just pretend that it doesn’t matter

Are you sure that the games that have been postponed due to the non-finishing of development? Absolutely no commercial reason?

Moving out of the holiday season for commercial reasons? Yeah I’m pretty sure.

Sony delay problems get alleviated by big third party deals with square. Xbox would have had the same but their third party exclusives also got delayed. It’s not a big deal.

This is your opinion , but personally I think the closest reason for the commercial reason is that Forza Motorsport 8 comes out at a new time in the series, the series was coming out between September and October.

So you think they chose to release Forza in 2023 instead of 2022 when they have no major games for 2022.. because they didn’t want to release it in the normal time for the series?

That’s what I was thinking earlier when I saw the post from @TheBrightestSun, SE is literally carrying Playstation’s 2023 (as of now at least). lol

People also forget that Sony had a pretty light 2021 with only Returnal and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, neither of which set the world on fire.

Xbox will get there. The quality of the games is the most important thing.

People are so accustomed to square exclusives that they see it as first party.

But they also had some launch titles.
