Xbox Game Studios |OT9| How many games would a game studio make if a game studio could make games?

So you think xbox won’t develope any more game under King mobile division?

There will be many games coming out there branding or say division. Mostly in development and not yet announced.

Add X0 to that and we’re good.

Of course they will, but do you think they will really have their own showcase?

They would need to have loads of games in development to even make a 20-30 minute showcase of mobile games ‘interesting’. Plus would the casuals who actually play these games actually tune in and watch it? My wife plays Bubble Witch but she wouldn’t be caught dead tuning in :joy:.

Yeah why not … We are just specualting here

Who’s to say an Obsidian event is 100%?

With Obsidian I would say there is a decent chance, as they’ve already been to multiple game showcases prior and are ramping up the size of their team. Eventually they could be big enough to have their own showcase or spotlight moment.

I can’t even think of a mobile games showcase, the nearest I can think of is some of the Indy events where mobile games are occasionally shown. Perhaps a ID and King showcase would be more likely?

Just thinking about it, EA’s Playdemic & Glu mobile are of equal size and I’ve never seen anything from them showcased.

I haven’t even seen Tencent’s Sumo & Supercell, TakeTwo’s Zynga or Garena’s games have their own showcase either (and they are much larger).

Even if King event does happen I know you won’t like it because the games will not be your intrest. So let’s just stop here because you are simply not interested such games.

False; PC code exists that argues otherwise.

Rolls eyes

Internet discourse is not indicative of reality and last I checked, polls were overwhelmingly positive on the showcase. Are you going to run with this monolithic viewpoint that you and a few online denizens share every month?

It’s just my opinion? I’m just trying to have a open discussion, are you aware of any other showcases for the big mobile game publishers?

I have already said King are very impressive, they are one of the most profitable parts of Activision Blizzard (if not most profitable).

I actually enjoy playing quite a few mobile games while I’m waiting for the kids etc.

What? FO76 looks very outdated at this point.

That’s not what was being discussed; a Series patch was. Due to the PC version existing and providing a roadmap for possible enhancements, your point was false. No need to keep moving goalposts.

What? Every time when the topic is about FO76 upgrades, I am asking for Creation Engine 2 migration.

Yeah it’s not a huge studio for a AAA team and they’re already delayed. Everything we saw looks like it could run on the Xbox One however cross-gen games do dilute their resources.

Plenty of time to clean it up visually but most important, I hope they can nail the game design. That’s one area Arkane has never dropped the ball. Open world and loot complicate balancing. My hope is Arkane can take this genre that’s already mainstream, infuse it with their DNA and parts from a genre that’s not, and create something special. I assume a lot of the delay is trying to get the gameplay loop right…but that extra time should also allow for more polish to the visuals.

I am not arguing over whether the King event would make sense or not. I am just saying that there will be lot of games under King mobile division that it could be there own standalone show. That’s why I made that list where I listed all the possibilities.

Literal quotes from users directly discussing wanting a Series upgrade that has nothing to do with needing to migrate to Creation Engine 2, which was very much what you were arguing. You specifically said:

The PC version (and even One X enhancements) look better than the current FPS Boost enabled solution and the aforementioned users discussed this specifically.

Yep true, would be good to see Xbox merge all their mobile teams under the same entity too. Not sure Zenimax will want to let go of Alpha Dog though :+1:

Long story short there’s no telling when F76 gets a proper Series patch. Ideally it’s this year, but we’ll see. By the wording in their latest comment I’m not sure it’s high on the priority list. It is considered as a long term plan, not exactly sure what he means by that.

They have talked about the game having loose plans for the next 5 years ahead, it seems there is no expectation between Bethesda and Microsoft that the game is going to stop getting updated any time soon - so there’s definitely a lot of room for long term plans. Mod support is still on there somewhere. I get the feeling that they simply don’t want to confirm anything till they have a more solid date in mind, they’ve been a lot more careful with this stuff recently, while Fallout 76 has a fantastic in game community there’s a portion that can be pretty toxic and doesn’t handle delays well.

I thought about that but they could just have their Fan Fest show alongside their main June showcase like they did a few weeks ago and since The Game Awards gets massive viewership, going with that would be the better decision in my opinion. Also, including X0 a few weeks before TGA over does it. I would only do X0 if I was skipping TGA which in all honesty, I wouldn’t do because I want the viewership that comes along with it.

TGA are boring af though, X0 is for us.
