yeah but i didn’t mention quality ? games like FH 5 hit different then Plague tale even if they are both quality games.

what do you think those three @Mort @javycane @ProgStopper talking about ? they want AAA games spread all over the year funded by XGS

Deathloop was delayed twice after Microsoft announced the Zenimax acquisition. Microsoft definitely put money into the game if for no other reason to not just show monetary support but also in turn, to make the Xbox port easier to do.

I don’t care that Bethesda is publishing their own games, all the money is now coming from Microsoft period. If Microsoft were to go bankrupt tomorrow, Bethesda would be dead. Once the acquisition went through, that’s it, it’s all Microsoft.

No different than games being released under THQ Nordic, Deep Silver, etc. being all under Embracer Group. There’s a reason why they’re called the parent company. lol

Not their fault they’re almost the only ones left who make both the SP and MP components good in their games. FH5 and Halo Infinite to me are as much single player as they are multiplayer.

They are probably on the lower end of AAA, I don’t know that I would consider them AA. Control only had a $30 million budget and I don’t think people consider it AA.

Either way, they are big third party games.

I also want more AAA games doesn’t mean I’m gonna dismiss some other games because they’re lower budget (and still actually look like expensive games btw). You all can want more / more quality games , I certainly do, without baselessly dismissing other games because you perceive them less important.

i don’t think indie studio (gsc world) have the budget to develop 70M-100M game and Foucs is known for their AA Games funding. this is what i consider big AA games not your average AA Game.

Upper AA or Lower AAA doesn’t really matter end the end. I don’t think anyone has any problem with that tier of game. That is in line with Remedy’s games and likely Hellblade 2 (with its team of like 40-60 people).

That might have been the original plan but joining Xbox they definitely rescoped and Microsoft probably pushed them. Microsoft want a few of those games everyone keeps telling them to have and so they’re gonna want to have them be as as big and good as possible.

Pretty sure they said the size of the team doubled from the last game. So still pretty small.

nah hellblade 2 have much bigger budget even if they are 40-60 team.

anyway let see those two big games Stalker 2 and Plague 2, only one of them we know the release date and the other one is listed for 2022.

Stalker 2 in April then that leave first 3 months dry for GP and Xbox

Mid-late in production I expect the game to eventually have a 100+ team… Without international + internal collaboration and contractors.

yeah but you forget Support Studios or the AAA treatment they are still hiring, they already working with good animation studio and good music band these things cost money.

anyway the game is probably Late 2023/ early 2024

I was off by a month. It was delayed in August 2020 and then again in April 2021. Microsoft was a month away from announcing the acquisition of Bethesda. Do you not think they all discussed that? I mean come on. They definitely did. It’s business. It’s money. It’s making a contract gets fulfilled. It’s a bunch of stuff. Point is that if it wasn’t for Microsoft, the game probably would have been rushed out in November 2020 as a launch PS5 title.

Besides, even though Deathloop is a one year timed console exclusive for PS5, it’s a highly rated critically acclaimed game which is now part of Microsoft. So yeah, Microsoft definitely put money, time and resources into the game. Absolutely. Hell, why wouldn’t they? It’s their game/IP that they own.

Hellblade 2 is a linear game SP Game, they don’t need to develop online portion/modes or features.

so many people aren’t needed for project.
