I thought Ninja Theory had like 120 staff? I think there’s more than 40-60 people working on HB2
they have other project(Project mara horror game) probably taking from them 20-30 Devs
I was always under the assumption they’ll work on those fully after HB2, like they might have a few people slowly chipping away but once HB2 is out they’ll all move over.
“The Hellblade 2 development team will be “very small by triple AAA standards, but aims to prove that small teams can achieve great things using procedural technologies and smart tools.” Ninja Theory is now owned by Microsoft but fans will be glad to see that this hasn’t changed the way that the developer makes games.”
Project Mara look like a very small project to me, at least in comparison to HB2, I very much doubt they have that many people on it
If NT really do have 100+ devs, I imagine its about an 80/20 split for HB2 and Mara
We know for a fact that Hellblade was created by a team of 20, we also know that they told us the Hellblade 2 team would be twice the size. So me going with 60 is being generous
100ish staff would definitely fit under small AAA standards,
yes while it’s true they would get help from other studios, you have for example Kojipro and death stranding. less than 100 dev team and developed an open world game with online features.
Hellblade 2 is more linear SP game, many devs aren’t needed for project. there is no reason to worry about it
Oh, I’m not worried about it.
Oh, i apologize then i thought you were worried about the game budget because of this post
Yeah, I currently expect it to be similar in scope to the previous game. But if it’s got even more people/budget it could be even larger in scope.
150M ? Hmmmm isn’t better to take that money and fund AAA game ?
Maybe but thats 150 million for a game that you wont get for 3-5 years and may not even be a success vs paying for something thats guaranteed to bring you in subs in the here and now
You gotta keep momentum while you have it so until their big games start dropping next year, big titles are needed for GP, not saying that it needs to be Elden Ring but they should definitely be targeting big games
Pretty much this
sure i agree but it’s solution for short time, how much that deal would last 3 months ? 6 months ? there is no guarantee people who came for elden ring would keep subscribing for GP especially there is no JRPG or Souls like game from MS in sight
If only MS and 343i did more with Halo…
Theres no guarantee any customer will keep subscribing but its big games that bring in new gamepass subscribers and they need those big games until their own big games start coming next year
Its not about the long term, they need big games in the short term to keep momentum until they can rely on their own content consistently pumping out content every couple of months at least
Id play it
Dont care whether its Gears or Halo, give me some survival horror spin offs
I can see both games being Game Pass day one.
And I think Saints Row will be there too.
Everyone wants a survival horror Halo game . Idk why MS hasn’t made one yet .
r/halo would still complain.
