Xbox Game Studios |OT7| Killer News Here!?

I mean I didn’t specify anyone but this thread always turns into something that ISN’T Xbox Game Studios and sometimes it’s needless worry and dooming.

Halo Infinite is just a damn good game. It’s Mario as a FPS, if that makes sense, due to how good it plays all the time you’re playing. It’s so good you easily forget its shortcomings and cut corners, etc.

Agreed. I easily prefer A Plague Tale Requiem and Stalker 2 being on Game Pass day one as opposed to buying some small studio that may not release a game for years anyway. Give me those day one AAA Game Pass games!!!

You would be correct. Its a zenimax game that is playable only on ps5 and pc.

I wonder who owns Zenimax now

Positive Surprise - Third Party games Day One on Game Pass. Outriders was surprising and MLB The Show was a shocker no one saw coming including Sony. lol

Negative Surprise - Microsoft didn’t do more for their 20th Anniversary. It was fine but I expected an actual digital showcase with a reveal, gameplay reveal, maybe a gameplay teaser for Starfield. So many companies always say it’s our anniversary for this or that but never make it special. More like an extended version of any other year.

Majority of games are perfect for Game Pass. Especially if there’s an online co-op/MP component that will have live service/post launch content for months after release. Keeps people subscribed. I know some people don’t like that saying but I think it’s true and for a lot of games out there, Game Pass is perfect for them and can only help the games become bigger and better.

GOTG is #9 on my list. Combat/gameplay knocks it down the list and while I loved the characters (Gamora baby FTW!!!) and writing for all of them, once you get to chapter 5 or so and the story plot becomes what it ends up being for the rest of the game was a turn off for me. Didn’t like it at all.

Just noticed we both have Halo Infinite as #1. Game of the year!!!

Excluding first party games which are a given, thus far I have Stalker 2 and Plague Tale Requiem day one on Game Pass. If Microsoft can somehow add a single day one Game Pass game every quarter that’s for me, I will be very happy as I would consider this to just be a massive bonus on top of all the first party games.

I agree with this but only to an extent. Once Microsoft’s other games that are pure single player and story driven get released like Starfield, Hellblade 2, etc., this concern will be no more. There’s obviously going to be at least half or so games that are being made under Microsoft that are focused on the live service co-op/MP aspects because long term, that is one of the factors that will keep people subscribed to Game Pass. If you love playing these types of games on a weekly/monthly basis, you’re much more likely to stay subscribed. But in time, this concern will be gone due to the excellence of the non-co-op/MP/live service focused games. It’s just going to take another year or two to accomplish.

An 8 from Edge is like a 9.5 or a 10 from everyone else. lol

I believe ALL games are perfect for Game Pass. It should be a substitute for buying games and appeal to every kind of gamer.

For sure. I have been talking about the here and now, mostly in the context of the upcoming year.

Xbox does and when Redfall drops you could most likely say its an XGS or whenever Deathloop definitive edition drops.

It’s already accomplished, I am exclusively playing single player games on Game Pass and I’m extremely happy with it, the very few MP games I play aren’t on GP anyway. Let’s stop specifying weird goalposts on what counts and doesn’t as a single player game now

IDK Are they ? i don’t think the budget of these games surpassed 40M-50M. i guess they are big AA Games.

also i don’t think it’s worth it to throw money at 3P AAA Games unless it’s heavy hitter like GTA, it’s better to take that money and fund games from teams across the globe to feed GP, you will own the IP and you make sure first 6 months would never be dry again this way.

Deathloop is, factually, already an Xbox studio game. Xbox didn’t get a benefit from it and 95% of it’s development was prior to acquisition but post acquisition anything that Zenimax owns, Xbox also owns. It’s definitely nothing to brag about but it’s a worth reminder that Arkane is an Xbox studio that will be making Xbox exclusives going forward.

I understand what you’re saying but I slightly disagree because let’s say someone signs up for GP and the first game they wanted to play is a broken disaster like that Dark Alliance game was at launch. You’re going to most likely have a negative reaction and if that person has other games that are similar experiences, that could potentially turn off that person from staying subscribed. I just think that for certain games but mainly the live service games because they simply don’t have a good track record at all, they need to be a little more picky and look into the game further. They should have a quality control team that looks into the game and with Parsec, they could easily stream the game if the publisher/developer allows them to do so. Other than that, I agree.

2022 lineup for Game Pass day one looks far better than 2021. Plague Tale and Stalker 2 alone pretty much accomplish this excluding Microsoft’s first party games.

That’s great for you but for me, not so much if at all. The first true third party game that im getting day one is Stalker 2 which is a pure single player game. So it obviously took a while. For Microsoft’s studios, they have a few single player but also live service multi-player which let’s be honest, overshadows the single player. Starfield will change that but more so in 2023 when im expecting Avowed, Hellblade 2 and another single player first party game.

So while you’re happy and satisfied, I haven’t been. At least not yet.
