You signed with a 1st Party Publisher for your game. They own the IP.
They allowed several delays for Ori. They allowed Switch versions.
What more did they want FROM A 1st PARTY PUBLISHER
Did they think Ori was Minecraft or something?
Luckily I will be very well fed on that front.
Apparently not being on PlayStation was a major affront to them, oh well, peace.

I’m not trying to blame the devs here, I’m really not. Ori 1 + 2 were amazing, but I can’t get over this fact that SUPPOSEDLY they weren’t happy because the game wasn’t on PlayStation.
Yeah, sorry but look around, what platform allows that when they publish the game unless it’s a licensing requirement. Like take a minute to reflect, they treated him great for what he signed and actually gave him more than anybody else would.
Such is the reality he chose, if he didn’t like the terms up front that was the time to discuss it…
Just read his post, and think he’s way off because no console manufacturer would put their games on competitors hardware. However, wouldn’t the better question be why doesn’t Sony and Nintendo accept game pass on their platforms? I believe that would technically achieve the dream he has for the industry because I see no advantage of Microsoft giving up 30% of software revenue to Sony/Nintendo, and also lose customer base
Granted we’re hearing only ONE-SIDE third hand information so maybe it’s a lot more complicated than that, but based on the facts presented to me from all sources, it’s such a weird strange take.

Yeah, I can’t imagine anyone, especially smaller developers, trying to break into the RPG space. It’s extremely difficult even for the F2P titles.

I dont think they, Sony, would be that kind to just laugh. It would be more like an Invincible Omni-Man reaction level, skipping completely over the Darth Vadar “I am altering the deal” reaction level.
