Jeff Grubb talking about Project Belfry on Grubbsnax now. I’m trying to type as he talks:

• Similar to Dragon’s Crown

• Side-scrolling action game

• Massive world. “Belfry” is your home base where you will craft things and then go out into the world

• Art style has Princess Mononoke vibes

• Won’t reveal developer. Does say they are well known for cool art styles, but they’ve never done anything quite like this.

I asked if it’s single-player or co-op in the questions, he hasn’t answered yet.

Had me at beat em up, really had me at "Princess Mononoke ".

Maybe this side-scrolling game is the one scheduled for H1 2022 Klobrille was talking about some weeks ago. Stoic output has been very regular (2014-16-18) and now they have added 1+ years due to covid and bigger project, it’s reasonable.

Escharum, for all his talk, will get dispatched early on, I’m gonna guess. Plus, Atriox’s return could well just be brief and we go up against him proper in a title update.

I think that hologram in the back is kinda all we’ll see of Atriox in the game. Too many “villains” already. Escharum, Cortana (provisionally) and now Harbinger.

it’s more of a logistical thing, the other thread was created in the midst of Jez leaking all these projects and codenames, and it made sense to dedicate all short term conversation and speculation there rather than populating this megathread with them, which could be dedicated more to current XGS+Bethesda and known partnership news/announcements/etc

Its kind of annoying having the same discussion split across two threads though.

If it were my choice, discussion would stay here and the Projects thread would be more of a reference kind of post.

Just wanna say, it’s kind of annoying having to navigate numerous threads for information. I understand the need for many threads, obviously, but Project Belfry is an XGS game. This is the XGS thread. There is no reason to funnel talk of the project out of here.

XGSP doesn’t publish every Xbox game, they usually just publish exclusive games with big MS funding like Ori, Contraband, Flight Simulator and now Project Belfry.
