Work has started on how to bring Age 4 to xbox now that the game is done on PC:
No confirmation it will launch, but they are now looking to see if they are able to translate the game well to a controller
What can we tell console users, Age of Empires IV will be released on Xbox ? AI: We’re thinking of you. As soon as we’re done managing the launch of the game on PC, we’ll start thinking about how to make it work on consoles. We don’t have definitive plans yet, but it’s now that we’ll start thinking about it.

No surprise, one of the devs mentioned it or hinted at it months ago. I highly doubt they would ever release a PC only game considering they bloody managed to get flight sim on console lol and that had a lot more shit to deal with than AoE4.
Just wanna say, it’s kind of annoying having to navigate numerous threads for information. I understand the need for many threads, obviously, but Project Belfry is an XGS game. This is the XGS thread. There is no reason to funnel talk of the project out of here.

Level-5 has terrible relationship with Xbox. Ni no Kuni is one of the rare Bandai Namco games skipping the platform for this reason. It all come from the old OG game True Fantasy Live Online cancelled.

Plus Xbox is happy to release it on PC too and they can jump into Game Pass too if they want to have as much as 20m eyes on your game, kinda a big deal.

it’s more of a logistical thing, the other thread was created in the midst of Jez leaking all these projects and codenames, and it made sense to dedicate all short term conversation and speculation there rather than populating this megathread with them, which could be dedicated more to current XGS+Bethesda and known partnership news/announcements/etc

Jez Corden said on Twitter a few weeks ago he believes every XGS will come to PC & console, including Age.
Almost sensing a truce between Jez and Jeff.
"I’ll leak this part of game X and you can leak the remaining details. And for game Y we’ll flip the recipe. "
