Knocked out a few GP games in the past few weeks:

  • Amnesia: The Bunker was pretty cool. It was atmospheric and oppressive but didn’t feel too unfair by the time you got a handle on mechanics.

  • TOEM was a cute, fun time. Short little game that’s got a lot of charm. Pretty easy 1000/1000 looks like, if that’s your thing

  • Morrowind was really great and consumed me. I had only played it for maybe 30 minutes 20 years ago and didn’t expect to get sucked in the way I did. Word of warning: be extremely careful about quest items. No, more careful than that. I was paranoid about that sort of thing and still ended up losing track of an early plot-critical item… which means I had to do the alternative path for the main quest. Still interesting and fun but I missed out on a lot because of it. I probably could have checked one hundred vendors to see if I had sold it to them and they still had it in their inventory but that was more time than I wanted to put in.

Had Benedict Fox received the QOL update for things like map markers? I’d asked a while back and it hadn’t come yet, but I can’t figure out if that’s changed.

Headbangers Rhythm Royale is coming to Game Pass on october, 31.

This has been in early access for a while. I played a few minutes of it, it’s gorgeous.

Sea of Stars is really, really gorgeous, and the music slaps so hard. I thought I was just gonna see how it is and play it later, but now I’m very likely doing a playthrough, I think I can comfortably manage it before the 6th.

yeah indeed

gonna do the rest the of cheevos on 2 stacks (XSX and XB1 version) of metal hellsinger, maybe Fuga? (I’m focusing on Persona 5, I don’t think i will put another turn based game on my backlog, since it’s not much fan of this type of gameplay)

Call me crazy but I think the future of game pass is going to be very different from what it offers today.

Instead of it having 500+ games for $16.99 a month I think we’re going to see the service split into genres like how Disney does it for their streaming, except maybe even further than that. Almost like cable.

You’ll have the shooter subscription for $5.99 a month which includes cod, battlefields, halo and gears with ads, the RPG subscription which has Starfield, outer worlds, avowed and other RPGs for $5.99 with ads And much more

There will always be a subscription that includes everything but the price will go way up, maybe $35-45 a month kind of thing.

Games will cost $70-100 Dollars per purchase but these inexpensive tiers will be extremely popular, why do I think they’ll do this? Cause right now Game Pass is a bit of a loss leader and with ads I think they’d make more money, plus most game pass customers aren’t even fully utilizing the service and I see the future of many subscription services going this way…be it because money or regulations.

Look at how the EU forced Microsoft to split MS teams from Microsoft 365? Having tiers could end up being the future of subscriptions.

No, it’s not:

Microsoft says Xbox Game Pass is profitable as it sees subscription growth slow - The Verge

What you likely won’t see anymore from Game Pass, is Xbox paying Capcom $30 million to bring DMC5 over not long after launch. But no way in hell do they raise the price to $35 a month.

With the way inflation is going that’s bound to eventually happen, I’m making $20.50 an hour at the moment, $35 a month is only a little more than an hours worth of work a month, that’s how people are able to justify these subscriptions. Even Walmart is paying somewhere around $17 an hour.
