He isn’t sharing predictions. He is sharing info about a list he was given from a source he trusts. And no, he wouldn’t make an article because he it’s the day before the showcase. He noted this days ago before he even got the list. If his list is wrong, by all means hold his feet to the fire and we can take that into account for the future.
He has one of the better track records out there among leakers. If we aren’t gonna take him seriously we might as well not take Grubb or Jez or anyone else seriously either. None of them are 100%.
The funniest thing about all this is that even if Tom’s list is 100% real the show is going to be amazing and he also said there will be big surprises. Either way it’s going to be a lot of fun tomorrow and people need to calm down and stop throwing around insults over this.
When it comes to Xbox, I trust Jez and Grubb over Tom. They seem to believe Avowed will be there. All we can do is wait and see. Either way I expect its going to be a great show. They have A LOT of studios under their umbrella hard at work.
Agreed about this, it’s fine to discuss etc, that’s what the forum is for imho, and while i’m a bit sad right now about this, i’ll be happier if they finally show the game than if i didn’t have heard about this stuff Tom said, this is how it works i guess.
And it’s like 20 hours from now, no time to doom and gloom or damage any company, if the conference was in some months i could agree with not wanting to talk about it, but at this point, just fine.
I’m going based on what others here have posted. Avowed being a no-show alone makes me hope Tom is 100% wrong.
Those are all good but I watch these showcases for the major reveals. I know first party is a guarantee because well, they own them or in the case of ABK, they will by this time next year or earlier.
For example, seeing the reveal for Dying Light 2 or Devil May Cry 5 on the Xbox Showcase in 2018 was huge and made the show even better for me. Add in Cyberpunk at the end interrupting Phil which was so cool since I don’t believe that’s ever happened on a showcase and it’s one of several reasons why E3 2018 is my #1 Xbox showcase because they gave me everything I wanted in a single showcase.
Capcom did say they may have one or two reveals on Monday so hoping it’s revealed there.
Where did I say any of that? I never said sharing information isn’t allowed or even warranted… I’m pretty sure I created this very thread for that sole purpose. I was talking about the repeated concern that “I’m not seeing what I like” when we don’t actually have confirmation of what’s going to be there based on the reality of dozens of similar showcases having been “leaked” only to be wrong.
Pretending he is just guessing or that he is speculating or making his own predictions is not constructive and in fact deliberately dishonest. He claims to have a list from a trusted source. He has a solid track record. He gave us info about the list and some are upset since that info doesn’t tell them what they want to hear. If you are dead set on setting yourself up for disappointment, by all means go right ahead. We should be able to have frank discussions in the thread about the leaked info without just pretending it is something different than what it is. It could well be that his source played him, but we have no reason to assume that atm outside of ppl wanting that to be true.
But just because those are the third party games, it does not make them inherently more hypey or better than whatever Xbox’s first party is doing. I do think that we will have to accept eventually that Microsoft wants to be like Nintendo and rely on their first party and exclusive deals (XGP) for everything due to Game Pass. I just hope they will make each and every new game after the acquisition exclusive unless it was released on other platforms already and they have to support it.
Starfield looking amazing alone will be enough to really help folks get over the delay. Not entirely, but it’ll help a lot since many seem to just assume it was delayed due to being a Cyberpunk level mess. Seeing otherwise will do wonders for the Xbox brand image and how it is talked about. I wanna see FM too, which Tom said was gonna be there too.
Seen some people thinking Capcom might be the other company taking up a lot of time
They just had big reveals at a state of play a week ago and have their own showcase to show more, Capcom might have games at this show like DD2 but I see no reason to expect them to take up a lot of time
