I think people would be wise to take a chill pill and not start doom-and-glooming before we see anything concrete (ie the actual show), although I know some of you are apt to do so regardless. Seriously, I’m not sure how many times we need to see these insiders and leaks be proven wrong time after time before people realize that some may have some information but rarely does anyone have it all, and even rarer for even that to pan out.

Also, I would like to add, that Tom is already making a lame excuse if his “predictions” doesn’t come to fruition.

But my fear is that if Microsoft only goes after games that they can get on Game Pass day one, then I know im not getting any AAA third party game reveals on it and that also tells me that they’re not going to go after marketing deals which means Sony can come in if they so choose and swipe them away for timed exclusivity which I don’t want to see happen.

I don’t see Sony being able to make those games exclusive - Xbox is just in too strong position to be ignored. Marketing deal that prevents it from coming to Game Pass - sure, but at the same time these big publishers are not willing to put their big games in Game Pass Day 1 anyway, so nothing value is lost for Game Pass.

Big third parties are guaranteed to come to Xbox 100% Square Enix aside with FF, no publisher is ignoring Xbox for their big releases these days. Sure, Capcom showed a whole slate of games in Sony’s showcase but none of those were exclusive and I doubt Capcom would be willing to put RE4 Remake in Game Pass in the first place.

Sega is the only third party publisher that is a Game Pass supporter.

My issue is that if Microsoft can’t secure games for Game Pass on day one, that means they won’t showcase them at all which tells me to never expect major game reveals on their showcase because they won’t be in Game Pass day one which means they will be no-shows.

So for example, some people are hoping for Dragon’s Dogma 2 to get revealed at the Showcase tomorrow but if Microsoft only goes after games that they can put into Game Pass day one, then there’s no chance of this happening since Capcom isn’t going to do that. So basically, any major rumor of a big third party game reveal should never be expected or hoped for on an Xbox Showcase and that’s not what im hoping for and not why im watching their showcase every year.

He isn’t speculating. He has a list. You can choose to believe he has bad sources, but that isn’t the same thing as just asserting he is wrong ‘just because’, which is what you’re doing. I have not seen any insiders claim they know Avowed will be shown. Just that they predict it will. Show me these insiders claiming they have direct info saying it WILL be there please.

Sharing what Tom is saying is now spun as ‘doom and glooming’? People are allowed to take a well known leaker with a solid track record at his word when he says he has direct info to share. They are also allowed to be disappointed and/or excited by that info. We shouldn’t be downplaying things Tom shares just on the basis that we don’t want it to be true in a thread premised on leaks. This isn’t a hype thread.

Well, they have Sega, their own studios + acquired publishers (plus imagine they acquire another publisher) so they will show enough. Imagine the next Blizzard’s, Bethesda’s or Activision’s games reveal etc.

But yes without third parties. But so what? The easiest access to those games for the consumer will be via Xbox anyway.

I am not hoping anymore. And anyway nobody “leaked” DD2, people just assumed that if Sony had so many Capcom’s game there, then maybe Xbox has at least DD. But DD director liked Capcom’s stream so…
