I wanna be honest: i seen the worst Xbox showcase since 2017. Last year was Epic. I think people are a bit dumb when they asking only “gameplay, gameplay, gameplay” and the final result it’s a 90 minutes show really bad and without hype. Showing only the game for the next 12 months It was really stupid, imho.
On the other hand, Starfield Is fucking stunning… My God, this Is my game. Now i understand the delay. Great graphic for this enourmous game.
Redfall could be interesting and also the new game by Team Ninja.
Pentiment Is a big no, for me.
ASOBO: very talented people. I love Plague tale.
Diablo IV: fanstic but it’s not a new.
Rating the show: 5/10.
Next year i would like to see more CGI for the next big titles.
Or scrap CGI and how about just show the game in action in some kind of way even if it’s still far away? Sony has done it multiple times, they still do, Nintendo has done it too. Xbox can too. It probably just depends on if Xbox/XGS finds it worth taking the time out to make material for a show.
Let’s be honest… Microsoft will never do anything right and always are going to be criticize by a group of people, no matter what, they will never win these group of people.
Microsoft reaction every time they do or show something…
Always my opinion. And when i seen the leaks about the absence of some titles like Awoved, contraband, Fable, Compulsioni and more i felt that It would be a “meh Showcase”.
They should strike the balance, but that was basically impossible after announcing a shit ton of games too early. You need some surprises for a great show.
I think they sacrificed this year to even it out a bit.
I remember how it was back then, people only had gameplay in mind, too much CGI, yada yada. And there were surprises at this show, some of them that got leaked beforehand sadly. However, overall, people seem to like it and the format, so I think they did things right.
I found more hype seeing a CGI for a 2024 big title in comparison to see generic gameplay.
As I said, beside Starfield, Redfall and forza (Diablo IV and Plague of tale gameplay have already been shown), a bad showcase for me.
Yeah as much as people might want the gameplay, gameplay, gameplay
It’s a limiter on what you can show and it can also result in pacing being off and honestly a couple of big in-engine/CGI trailers somewhere in the middle of the show to break up some of the smaller indies probably would have helped a lot
But it is what it is, they wanted their 12 month show and they certainly delivered in that regard even if it wasn’t what myself or others expected
Don’t take the 2020 Showcase as a example. There were only CGI for One reason: COVID. But i remember well all of excitment for the Avowed and Fable announcements.
