Xbox+Bethesda Showcase 2022 | Community "Watch-a-long" thread [Spoiler & Leak Free]

Im wondering if we some other games like Replaced or Sommerville though, could that stuff make sense?

To me it was Forza Horizon 5, Stalker 2, Halo vs Starfield, Redfall, Forza Motorsports, then there were a lot of indies and smaller projects being show, but same for 2021’s one, just in a smaller scale. Overall this conference was better gameplay wise, since also Stalker is pretty much multiplatform.

But then in 2021 we had Redfall, Forza Horizon 5, Contraband, and Flight Simulator? (even tho i wouldn’t put this one on the same list as the other but) announced for Xbox, and first in engine video for Starfield.

This year we had nothing of that.

Its the last chance probably. Otherwise I guess it could follow the path of historical games like FF7, 8, 9 and 10 and come to the next Xbox lol.

Just when I thought I was out…sigh.

It’s true though, it was removed from that list and Persona was too, and now they are coming to Xbox. If this happens though, I wonder if the same shit will happen to part 2.

This so freaking much!

Replaced was mentioned on Summer Games Fest. Was planned to show something on SGF, but was missing because of the Ukraine conflict.

As a few people Said it’s more interviews with devs.

Last year the only thing revealed was they put the indie gamepass montage in that showcase. And had 2-3 smaller trailers for gamepass titles but nothing mind blowing

Note 7.5 for the event.

The GP is amazing, Bethesda does a good job, but the XGS planning is really bad.

I really like the idea of games in the 12 months, but you have to have content in that period to work this way. Going an entire year without any major first releases is a mistake Game Pass can’t make.

Another point is that Microsoft needs more events. Some smaller games could appear on an inside xbox. Generating more prominence for the small ones and more hype for the giants.

We could have another nice Stalker 2 demo and Atomic Heart but then…we all know what happened. Those would have been nice to see again and absolutely would have counted as impressive looking games not by their own studios.

Overall the whole 12 months thing is just limiting, and it isn’t needed. Keep the majority of it for the 12 months, fine, but a few updates on games coming after those 12 months is very necessary too, let’s show the people the future of what they can expect. They had no problem showing off Hellblade 2 very early and we have no idea of the release date. So I hope they make the next shows also cover farther away games.

Yes, but maybe they will announce something new on TGS or show some Game Pass announcements. After all we get new stuff every month, so who knows what they have in the future.

Anecdotally there is no much negativity, however if Todd did not say about 1000 planets it would be better :joy:

Xbox’s Riot Games deal was the biggest announcement last night | Opinion

I kinda agree. When I saw Riot on stage I was quite surprised and impressed. Riot is the type of company that have their own stage, they don’t need to be on others’, they don’t even put their games on Steam and they’re still huge on their own. Really hope that this extends even beyond and they bring at least some of their games to console.

It actually was, I don’t really play any Riot games, but the announcement was one of the most important one in terms of PC Game Pass future growth. The type of stuff that we wouldn’t care about, but because these games have such huge communities, this was absolutely huge.

Definitely seems like a huge deal, especially the LoL stuff as there’s a massive amount of characters in that and they all cost like $5-10 afaik? So all those for a single sub seems absurd, wonder how much MS paid for this

Complete nothing burger for me though and it lasted way too long, literally could have just been the Riot dude’s announcement instead it went on and on with pointless esports clips

This was unfortunately one of the biggest problems with this years vs last years, last years everything flowed so well and the only section that dragged a little was FH5

This year the riot stuff, Motorsport and Diablo all went on for far too long and had me bored, which was the complete opposite of last year where I was engaged constantly

They should really find a way to stream in 4K. Because it kinda ruins the first impression of the game. Very annoying.

Mixer was superb with that. The difference in quality is crazy when you watch the stuff in 4K afterwards. So much that I might consider watching the show after it has aired live next year. But is the full show available in 4K or only trailers?

While I really did appreciate the “only things releasing within the next 12 months” theme for show, I wonder if tomorrows show will follow that same script

Because if not, we could be in for some rather big names people have been craving to see

Kind of…I’m surprised it wasn’t confirmed, but I still expect the deal to close before DIV releases so its academic.

No, because it does not make sense for Microsoft to pay to ABK for Day 1 deal (for obvious reasons), and at the same they cannot act as they own Blizzard because the deal is not finished.

In France, the show is still trending at number 3, pretty impressive considering there were elections.

Did everyone here re-watch in 4k yet…while fast forwarding through some of the DLC announcement fat? Hits a little different. If you have, curious if your opinions changed.

Re-watching in 4K with the 12 month rule finally settling in and being able to control the clunky middle pacing with the fast forward button improved my reception of the show.
