a lot of people seem to be invested in the idea of Gamepass coming to switch and not enough in the reality of whether or not Nintendo will actually allow it. I’ll easily swallow my words if they pull that off, until then I have very few if not any reasons to believe gamepass will come in any form to Nintendo platform. Maybe @Shpeshal_Nick is gonna completely disprove my skepticism soon, maybe not. We’ll see.
Yeah both PlayStation and Nintendo will come up with their own gamepass
Nintendo would have to pay a good amount of money for a deal like this to work out, they’d never do it.
But I’m not saying the Switch is different? This is you. You want to prevent a GPU subscriber to use it on a Switch and a PS5. I’m saying this is all the same. I’m paying for Game Pass Ultimate and would like to very much use it on my Xbox and my Switch
PS, I’m sure, Nintendo not so much, at least comparable to any degree. Their games sell 30 million copies at 60 dollars, they have zero reason to pursue the gamepass model.
Obviously not 1:1 but some sort of their own gamepass
tbf we’re talking about the same company that resells you decade old games at full price with barely any upgrade and actually succeed at it.
I don’t think it is coming, moreso reacting to the takes of how bad it would be if it did.
This is another one of those recurring arguments here than never seem to go away haha.
If you are a gamepass ultimate subscriber you can use it on every device except those 2 because they are direct competitors to xbox no matter what you people have imagined in your mind about how good and friendly xbox is.
The Switch and PS5 eats xbox sales in hardware and software and just being happy that xbox would allow its premier service on said consoles because you want to is absurd.
Can’t wait for the competing service that lets people use the devices they want to swoop in and take over the streaming market!
I just want to point out that the moves you need to make for a successful streaming service are not always going to be aligned with what makes most sense for the traditional market.
Can we at least agree on that?
Well, I also have a Switch and don’t give af. Still waiting on the upside for Xbox users… “Benefits MS, benefits xCoud” does nothing for me. Like Phil said, leave the economics to the companies. What am I, as an Xbox user, supposed to be happy about?
Fewer games skipping xbox, fewer (because they are more expensive) timed exclusives from Sony, more acquisitions, dropped Gold paywall (because most people think itll go away as GPU users increase), etc.
I expect those things without the Switch (not already subscribed to XGPU) user base. Don’t you?
MS doesn’t need the Switch for that, like at all. MS needs to provide a better service and better games on their ONW platforms.
Those are all benefits of a successful platform, which I believe this will help achieve.
What is Microsoft’s own platform nowadays?
So among the 2-3 billion potential gamers Phil wants to reach, the Switch users is what will tip the scale? Get outta here lol.
Xbox, PC and Mobile. The first-party games will move the needle, not a Switch xCloud service.
Mobile is no longer mobile, it is cloud.
