Xbox Acquisition |OT6| If this is about competition, let us have competition

Pipedream. Entirely different OS and APIs between Linux Stadia and BSD PlayStation and then there is the major hardware differences.

Anyways, all is offtopic for Xbox Acquisitions…

Everything is a part of Game of Acquisitions

I dont see a need. Xcloud will get better IQ when they offer 4k streams and latancy will be a something to eliminate as long as streaming exists.

If it isn’t running Stadia blades and Stadia controllers it isn’t Stadia. I assume Stadia was designed to minimize latency from end to end and Xbox (and Sony) are stuck building around hardware designed for local compute.

Well, hello guys and gals!

Some time has passed since i brought forward to you how i envision the future of Microsoft Gaming. Now that some things have happened, and some time has passed i thought it is time to present to you my updated list regarding the future of Microsoft Gaming.

After the acquisition of Activision/Blizzard/King it is in my eyes a priority to secure some key partner Studios, reestablish some former/lost relationships and to gain a stronger foothold in the eastern market by acquiring Japanese Studios and Publishers.

My studio acquisitions would look like the following:

  • Arc System Works (future Game Pass Partner)
  • Asobo Studios (current Partner)
  • Avalanche Studios Group (current Partner)
  • Bokeh Game Studio
  • Certain Affinity (current Partner)
  • Crytek (former Partner)
  • CyberConnect2 (current Game Pass Partner)
  • Deck Nine Games
  • Interior/Night (current/former Partner)
  • IO Interactive (current Partner)
  • Kojima Productions (current Partner)
  • Level-5 (former Partner)
  • Marvelous
  • Media.Vision
  • Mercury Steam
  • Mistwalker (former Partner)
  • Nihon Falcom
  • Platinum Games (former Partner)
  • Rabbit & Bear Studios (current and future Game Pass Partner)
  • Remedy Entertainment (former Partner)
  • SuperMassive Games
  • The Odd Gentlemen
  • White Owls Inc. (former Partner)

This list consists of 12 Japanese Studios, 3 US Studios, 2 UK Studios, 1 German Studio, 1 Spanish Studio, 1 Finish Studio, 1 Swedish Studio, 1 Danish Studio, 1 French Studio.

Now that we have established which studios i’d like to see acquired, it’s my pleasure to show you the two Publishers i want to also be acquired by Microsoft.

  • SEGA (Sonic, Total War, Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Judgment, Phantasy Star, etc.)
  • Bandai Namco (Tekken, Soul Calibur, PacMan, Tales of …, Scarlet Nexus, etc.)

Now that we have established which Studios and Publishers i’d like to see acquired by Microsoft i may present to you some additional pictures/explanations what i think/wish that these Publishers/Studios should work on in the future and how i would structure all these Publishers.

Activision would almost remain the same as of now, but i would add The Odd Gentlemen to Activision to develop some of the classic Sierra Adventure games.

Bandai Namco would see some major additions to their roster but also some long-standing partners.

Blizzard Entertainment single

Blizzard Entertainment future

KING single

KING future

SEGA also sees some legendary additions to their roster.

I thought long and hard if I would add any Studios to XGS, but in the end i thought that the two Studios i added are just a perfect fit for XGS.

After the new additions Zenimax Media is a even greater Action/Shooter powerhouse.

The conclusion to all this is, i can’t wait that the ABK-Deal closes, and we finally get our partner and JP-Publisher acquisitions.

I hope you enjoyed my vision regarding the future of Microsoft Gaming and i wish all of you a nice and relaxing weekend, wherever you may be.

You have to shoot for the moon.

Capcom was initially on my list, but after the news of the Saudi Investment Group i switched them for Bandai Namco, because i think (and i hope i’m wrong) that Capcom will be acquired by the Saudi Investment Group.

umm saudi aint acquiring capcom so easily lol

I hope you’re right, but they already have some stakes in Capcom.

Easily? If they spend 120% premium thenn it is not easy for sure.

Capcom would make sense as MBS is into esports, 90s nostalgia and bought SNK. Capcom would be a natural next step.

its not like they own 50% stakes in capcom lol

umm but its just street fighter only i dont think they r into that i feel pubg devs r gonna be the one to get acquired even with snk to be honest not many people care for snk that much as compared to past

SNK was also just KOF basically.

I really hope you are right, and they acquire Krafton, because i couldn’t care less about PUBG and Co.

One interesting take is I heard recently is that Saudi fast approval was also related to their desire to acquire stuff.

  • Capcom to Saudi
  • EA to Amazon
  • Ubisoft to Tencent
  • Sega & Square Enix to Microsoft
  • Sony to Apple

:fire:

considering microsoft is also into japanese publisher i dont think saudi gonna have it easy ofcourse sony is also gonna enter if capcom is for sale dont know much about amazon they didnt show that much about gaming meanwhile ubisoft acquisition is kinda idk sony might be acquired later but thats not gonna happen soon

Sony is not even a part of acquisition conversations. The best they can do is that is to offer some deal like they tried with ABK. But they cannot afford joining that acquisition figtt aganst Saudi, Tencent, Microsoft. Unlike Sony, those companies make money out of thin air (backed by the country, big tech, big tech).

If Capcom is on the table, of course Microsoft will be there but we don’t know what their plan is. Maybe they are willing to let Capcom go to Saudi for some other deal, but then they will go after other company instead (tit for tat). We don’t know at this point. With Saudi it is more likely to be multiplatform anyway.

I want MS to get Sega &/or Capcom but something tells me it’s Square.

Funny silly question time - Does anyone know if the contracts between Bandai Namco and the Anime companies are terminated if Bandai Namco are sold? Possibly a questions for Hoeg Law.

I ask as I’ve seen similar details in other contracts dependant on extremes. I think Sony & Spider-Man may has this clause.

This Tencent initiative to continue there viper grip on the industry really has me concerned. And Saudi is just another horrible influence getting to close to the industry. But money will always talk
