I have but Just Cause doesn’t have a huge emphasis on the flying mechanics which would be important for a game like Crimson Skies. Also not to mention all of the accessibility options that Microsoft Flight Simulator has and plane customizations/designs that Asobo could add into a potential Crimson Skies reboot.
if crimson skies controlled like a flight simulator people wouldn’t want to play it. I think a crimson skies reboot would need to go in a gta kind of direction, or an assassins creed IV. deemphasize flight.
Not at all. Crimson Skies just needs to be itself. Maybe there could be more of an emphasis on a campaign and have moments where you are on foot which Asobo could do since they made A Plague Tale but really the focus of Crimson Skies is a dogfighting game and it’s flying mechanics.
I thought Disney is still in debt after the Fox Entertainment acquisition? Surely they’d be incredibly unlikely?
Edit: Ooof literally just a few messages below someone said it already
Here’s an idea,
How about a mix between Crimson Skies with a little Just Cause, and you throw in some Dark Void as well. Perfect balance no?
Merge EA with Activision while the acquisition’s still going

Realistically we all have to understand that they won’t get every big publisher and every big IP under their roof. They already have 1 of the mid sized and 1 of the big 3. The more they get the harder it will be to acquire others. I see every one mentioning Take Two then Ubisoft then WB then Sega and Capcom and more. They are literally setting a record for the biggest acquisition in gaming history and I believe history in general. Let’s not get carried away and expect them to break that record again in the next two years. I believe the AB deal will go through, but regulators and others are not taking it lightly and are being more critical of it than we have ever seen. Plus there are only so many Big publishers and IP out there I would say after AB goes through they own a huge chunk of them and enough to put them most likely securely in 2nd place in market share. Everyone may point to Tencent, but compared to Microsoft as a whole Tencent is a dot on the map. Tencent will be able to get away with more studios simply becasue they aren’t as big as a company in general. If Xbox was it’s own entity not affiliated with Microsoft there would probably be very little push back to who and how many studios or publishers they buy, but that isn’t how it works being a part of one of the largest most powerful corporations in the world. My bet is that they lay low for a while pick up a single dev here or there while working on cleaning up AB and learning to manage what they have better. Asobo, IOI, and maybe Platinum with a final publisher being a Japanese one a few years down the road.
Nah definitely not history, I know for sure Exxon paid more for Mobil. Pretty sure the Times Warner acquisition was a lot more too.
It’s the largest tech acquisition
Yeah very slightly over the Dell Emc deal, but if thats adjusted for inflation the Dell deal is larger.
I’m always going to be a proponent of Xbox looking at studios that either need funding to stay afloat, or studios that have something cooking behind the scenes that could be “the next big thing”. Look at Respawn with Titanfall and Apex Legends and what that would’ve meant for Xbox if they invested/acquired early. There’s so many examples of this and I think you’re seeing Sony pivot in this direction with its recent acquisitions. Relatively unknown indies with high upside in terms of talent and potential IP.
Disney grabbing EA may be great for xbox peeps .
I know we were already warned about talking about Apple consoles in this topic, but with the concept art for an Apple console and now reports about EA possibly looking to sell to Apple, it definitely sounds like a fourth console could be on the market.
Now to get back on topic, hopefully the Activision Blizzard acquisition will be a speedy one, because it is an interesting time to be a gamer.
If EA does sell to Comcast, I just hope one of the EA studios will make a Jurassic Park survival game.
One thing I’m thinking about is with all these mergers, we could very well see some more game studios pop up and bring new gaming concepts to the market.
Who knows maybe in the future we’ll even see some small game studios merge, like how Bioware and Pandemic did, so they will be the next big publisher on the market.
it’s true that ms can’t buy everything. it’s true that ftc will probably complain but it couldn’t block acquisition of EA or TT if ms also keeps games on pc and playstation.
both companies have a catalog of sports that ms cannot give up (ea’s would be the best).
for my taste i prefer take two
I wouldn’t be surprised if ms dumped interest in warner bros to take EA sports is more important than fighting games
-sports -apex ( but that is the least) -BF -eventual Disney ip -the sims technology could be useful for building an oasis-like metaverse
- car games (this is the least) but also have F1
Break the record? Literally no other publisher is bigger than ABK. (unless EA + T2 merge but even then they will be smaller)
Tencent literally almost reached 1T in market cap at one point. They are slightly smaller than Facebook even and nobody considers Facebook small.
Considering that EA wanted to merge/sell even before ABK, I think Microsoft was not interested. I do wonder if there is a possibility to pick up some studios from EA (granted EA will sell probably almost dead DICE and Bioware, that is the shell of the past).
I see Microsoft going after T2 (not sure if Microsoft would be interested after ABK) - though if they grab marketing rights for GTA6, that would be great and probably enough. And other publishers are just not attractive for Microsoft.
Japan is the next destination
P.S. Now that I think about it, it is kinda fascinating that ABK has not a single sports license
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater?
Oh. But it is a not third party license right? I was just comparing it publishers with third party licenses like T2 (NBA), EA (FIFA, NFL). Though do I indeed forgot about Pro Skater.
I’m not sure how the licensing works, from what I can gather online ABK originally offered him 500k for the rights but he opted for ongoing royalties instead (which worked in his favour).
Another article stated the licensing arrangement ended a few years ago but ABK still own the publishing rights.
I know people have been talking about xbox buying EA after the activision deal but Id rather them buy Embracer even over sega and ubi
