I don’t think they would go after Ubisoft even without ABK.
On the west I think aside T2 they would not be interested in anything else.

26 support studios over 18 countries is not attractive? Think about the amount of resources that will give Xbox (especially for delayed games ).
The have over 45 studios in total with 14 in Asia where they are currently lacking a presence.
Having a lot of studios is a problem too. Just remember that Prince of Persia situation and management issues in India. And you will have to deal with all that time. Or that Skull & Bones management issues. Ubisoft is just too big.
Microsoft can acquire smaller independent studios if they need more staff.
It makes me wonder if Warner Brothers will reconsider selling the studios, if Disney who has said multiple times they want to license games not make them, was trying to merge with EA.
Jesus this generation is getting spicy!
But seriously, the interesting part here is that it seems EA wants a merge or to be acquire by someone. That MS-ABK acquisition has completely change the landscape of the industry
Welp EA is on sale. If disney grabs them that will be insane
That’s 45 more studios (not including their mobile or films division) on their payroll, and another 20,000 employees, with a publisher who has gone into the negative twice in the past 8 years. Seems like too much of a gamble
Indeed. Microsoft has changed the flow of history. While Sony moneyhatting games, Microsoft is changing the history
I actually would like that, but according to the report Disney is not interested for now.
A perfect fit for a Crimson Skies reboot would be Asobo.
I don’t think Disney has cash for it, didn’t they create debt to buy Fox?
nah, crimson skies needs to become an open world sandbox game with on foot gameplay where you play as thieves/criminals. it should go to a studio like Machine Games after they finish up on Indiana Jones, or Avalanche Studios.
I think they will do both. They will buy some studios that provide niche content imo. Stuff thats very creative and well regarded.
I see your point but if Microsoft are serious about expanding and providing regular content for GP I still feel Ubisoft are second to none.
Their location dispersion is probably the best in the industry and their release schedule is just stupendous.
It’s a lot of staff granted but they can always re-deploy them to support any of the other XGS, Bethesda or ABK studios (many of which have vacancies).
They could also learn from them regarding how Ubisoft manage and release so many projects each year IMO.
Asobo Studios could do that since they also made A Plague Tale where there is third person on foot gameplay in addition to the flying mechanics in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Yep A Plague Tale is amazing!
I really wish they’d join the Xbox family.
I agree. After the Activision/Blizzard acquisition I hope that Microsoft gets studios that they are close with like Asobo or Certain Affinity since it would be hard to see them get acquired by someone else.
Avalanche Studios has a engine more suited to a Crimson Skies game. Ever played Just Cause?
EA is going up for me this generation so of course, they would be looking to possibly sell/merge. Really hope that Disney changes their mind and acquires them because I think they would stay as is.
If it’s Amazon, they would be exclusive for Luna and Apple is getting ready to get back into console gaming. So ugh!!!
idk if they’d be allowed to merge with EA but hot damn, imagine if Dead Space became an Xbox exclusive?
