Replaying AC Origins. Not perfect but damn, it’s nailing everything that Valhalla didn’t in regards to controls, combat and overall gameplay. Granted, I knew this already but if I could choose to get more expansions for Origins (including a separate one with Aya as the main protagonist) over Valhalla expansions in 2022, I would. Shame that won’t happen though.
After I complete this, I will play season three of the Division 2 and then replay Ghost of Tsushima so I can get to the Iki Island expansion which I wish was a standalone.
Agreed AC Origins is really good compared to the other ones released recently. Really loved the setting of ancient Egypt. Did you play the expansions? They are quite good tbh.
Anyway, I started Greedfall recently, seems decent, I don’t like the faces at all but the environments and atmosphere is growing on me. I know where the story is going already but I’m curious to see how it develop itself.
Just few days agofinished Death Door 100% completion did everything & with 99% of achievements. Only one missing “Umbrella Academy” (play the game only with the umbrella from begining to the end) wasn’t aware of it when I started it.
Maybe I will make another run just for it. Really really loved this Zelda like game. Gameplay, ost, characters etc it was fun. Hope they’ll follow with a sequel.
I love Origins and Odyssey. There’s some things I prefer in Odyssey over Origins and some things I prefer in Origins over Odyssey. Both are easily superior to Valhalla in my opinion. I played and completed both expansions for both Origins and Odyssey back when they released. They’re all great.
GreedFall is a great action RPG. I really enjoyed it back when it released two years ago. I loved how you have to decide between skills, talents and attributes. You can’t max them all out so you have to make choices which affects some stuff in the game. Looking forward to Steel Rising next year!!!
Stopped playing Yakuza Like a dragon. After 35 hours I feel a bit burnt out and leveling up takes ages. Also read there is a bit of grind involved and currently dont have the time to sink in anymore.
Started Dodgeball academia and played about 90 minutes. Its a fun little game with some charm. Also cant believe this is a pokemon like rpg but with dodgeball and so far its pretty good. Another game I am only playing because of Game Pass
I can agree with this. Odyssey has more quests and whatnot but the dialogue choices also extent the game where as Origins is simply scripted for the entire game which I actually prefer over dialogue choices. Valhalla is just overbloated which is why all I have done were the story arcs, raids and viewpoints.
Totally agree, can’t wait to see what Acid Nerve will do next.
The Umbrella run is really fun, if you want more Death’s Door I highly recommend it. Still haven’t finished it but I really enjoyed what I played (I am just before the final boss).
I decided to jump into The Ascent. I’m liking it ok, it’s a good one to play while listening to a podcast or book. Next GP will be Dodgeball Academia I think, or 12 Minutes if it hits before I’m done with Ascent. Also planning to work through Returnal and start Silent Hill 2. I’m scared.
Went to dodge ball academia because just hit to many bugs on the Ascent. Pretty fun game couple of the challenges were just annoying and were where bad game mechanics reared their heads. 1 challenge prevented me from 3 achievements. And because that not going to bother to find the 2 secret achievements I missed.
Than moved on to Omno which was a fun little pallet cleanser that got knocked out pretty quickly and all achievements finished. Cute little art style and no real challenges. Usually the hardest was me trying to do something wrong and am easier way was there if I looked a little harder.
And now moved on to Raji last night before I went to work and got a little jump into it. Seems like a fun game. Got to the second weapon which I’m guessing isn’t to far until the game.
Got Hades and Psychonauts 2 on deck and see how the rest of the year shakes out to forza horizon and halo hit.
Just tried Death’s Door and the performance was awful (on an original Xbox One). Like half a second of input lag for the movement and frame rate was all over the place.
Was able to get a refund, but I kinda wish MS would give devs the option to cut off support for the OG/One S and still release on One X. I’ve played a fair amount of games over the past few years that are just subpar on the older hardware.
After beating The Ascent and Death’s Door last weekend (and I absolutely loved both), I’ve now moved on to Hades. Also just started my play-through of the entire Splinter Cell series. Doing them in order. The OG Splinter Cell holds up surprisingly well. Some crappy checkpoints but otherwise really enjoying being sucked back into the stealth genre. Maybe it’s nostalgia but I think I like the OG more this time than when it first released.
The One X version has a pretty junky (with drops and stutters) frame-rate in the more open areas as well so I can imagine how bad it is on the One S. As we go deeper into the new generation things like that will become more and more common. Definitely check out the game when you will get a Series console though, it’s a great game.
Back on topic I finished the Umbrella run on Death’s Door yesterday and today I’ll start Omno and Hades with some Streets of Rage 4 Survival thrown into the mix, those will keep me busy until Psychonauts 2 and No More Heroes 3 arrive at the end of the month.
I would just get an Xbox Series S at this point and try to get a Series X if you can(they’re insanely hard to find) but replacing even a One X with sEires S is a good option so you can play games a decent frame rate at least. Also more and more games are being better optimised for Series S.
Series S are much easier to find. Unless you can find a X just get an S to hold you off until you get one. Thats what my cousin did as he couldn’t find an X at all but S was available in his local store.
Its not worth the hassle playing these new games on base Xbox One.
I remember the day I upgraded to a One X from a base Xbox One. I was playing AC Origins and the difference was night a day. WE’re talking about a bog standard 1080p monitor. People kept saying One X is for 4k. NO its not. One X is for games to not look like blurry shit on 1080p screens
The Base Xbox one/S is so outdated its not even funny. Its just not made for these games. You’re better off making an optimised switch version of a game and then porting it to Xbox one. It would run better. IF you’re making a game built around faster CPU’s you’ve got no chance. These games are gonna perform badly on old hardware.
Bought it day one alongside my Series X. Amazing game don’t regret buying it and got the steelbook edition. Its a 50+ hour game. I think I finished it around 60 hours but spent more time on it doing side stuff.
Just started Hades. Great game, already have experience from playing the Steam Early access last year but the visuals look amazing. Game runs amaingly well on series X
