What are you currently playing?

Alright, Helldivers 2 is ridiculously fun.

Played one mission solo, one mission with two randoms (no voice/text chat), and then played about 2-3 hours with some buddies last night.

Honestly, its giving me flashbacks of playing Left 4 Dead 2 in high school with friends with how ridiculously silly and fun some situations can get. I’m only a level 5, so I’ve got a long ways to go, but even wiping on a mission on “Challenging” difficulty was fun with just how chaotic things got with my squad.

Arrowhead this week increased the server cap and are now having the game kick AFK players and I have to say… I ran into no issues.

That’s just my early impressions of the game. @peter42O if its something that interests you, I totally recommend picking it up!

Nice. Thanks for the impressions. It’s going to be a few months before I actually get a chance to play it but researching it, im very happy that I can play fully solo by setting the matchmaking to friends only (I have none on PS/Xbox since I don’t play online co-op/mp) and there’s no AI companions so no worries about friendly fire and whatnot. Very much looking forward to the game because I want to play a new pure core shooter. Last one I had was Outriders and that was three years ago. Thanks again. And sorry to see you leave the forum. Hope you reconsider.

Uncharted is one of the only (if not only) franchise I like from Sony and to me, Uncharted 2 feels like pea k ND. UC3 was a let down and 4 is a great game, just not on the same level as 2. Actually, 2 was so good that back when it was released, I did something which I almost never do with video games and restarted it (on crushing) the moment I finished my first playthrough. Game still holds up to this day imo.

As for CD Tomb Taider, gameplay is top notch, CD just doesn’t tell a story as well as ND. If they could iron that out, I’m sure they’d be on the same level as ND. Shadow of the Tomb Raider was actually quite bad in that regard, although I don’t think it was made by the same studio if I am not mistaken.

Completed Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

  • Visuals - 9.0/10 (excellent)
  • Audio - 8.0/10 (great)
  • Gameplay/Combat - 6.5/10 (above average)
  • Story/Characters - 8.5/10 (great)
  • Overall - 8.0/10 (great)

Enjoyed the story and characters, the world, the audio, the visuals, etc. but wasn’t a fan of the combat system at all nor did I like the upgrades, the God of War camera setup which affects combat in a negative way or the fact that there’s no way point on screen which forces you to keep the compass on at the top of the screen which for me is an automatic negative in any game because I hate the compass as in my opinion, it will forever be old, outdated and obsolete. Not to mention the fact that it never truly guides you where you need to go. This non-existent way point and being attached to the compass is becoming a trend and I hate it. It was in Avatar, is in Banishers and from the looks of things, I think it’s in Star Wars Outlaws as well. Developers need to stop forcing the player to keep/use the compass. UGH.

Anyway, now that Banishers is done and already sealed in it’s return envelope to GameFly with me mailing it out this coming Monday, tomorrow will start my next game that im super hyped for - Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. :joy:

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Played around 9 hours today. Have a shit ton still to do in the Grasslands before I continue with the story. Playing on performance mode. Plays really good and looks great to be honest. I know the resolution is in the 1100p range according to Digital Foundry but wasn’t upscaled to 4K.

There is some pop-in with textures, grass and whatnot when running around. NPC’s will pop-in from time to time but it’s perfect compared to the Yakuza games or Tales of Arise. Combat is great and maybe it’s just me but it’s too much in regards to what you can do. Some of the stuff you can do, im not sure I will ever use. Hehe.

Biggest issues for me is that there’s no jump button which for the aerial enemies, it’s very annoying. Besides that, there’s almost no HUD customization which for me is a negative in every game. I wish I could turn off the enemy detection circle, damage numbers and when it says staggered/pressured because I can see the bar and don’t need all this stuff popping up on the screen.

I also thought that I was going to be aggravated to no end having to keep the compass on the top of the screen but thankfully, there’s a mini-map which will forever be superior to the compass in any and every game so im happy!!

Music is top tier. Voice acting is great. Sound effects are good as well. I have only been doing the activities (Ubi towers FTW!!!) and stuff like that. Haven’t done a single side quest yet. lol

One thing that is very relaxing is just exploring the Grasslands region and doing whatever I come across unless I pin/waypoint something specific. Overall, an excellent game thus far but I have a massively long way to go…and that’s just for the Grasslands region. lol

So played Midnights Suns over the weekend. Gotta say, its addicting. But i do have an issue as the game closes on itself at times. Which is hella weird to say the least as my other game that am playing, “Dead Island 2”, has no issue whatsoever.

I decided to undertake the foolish endeavour of playing through the yakuza games on gamepass. Finished the main story Kiwami 2 yesterday, the remastered version Yakuza 3 is next up.

Good luck. Took me a whole year to finish Kiryu’s saga in Yakuza.

I started simon story . Beautiful art direction and simple gameplay with fun combat. Unfortunately, Konami does not deserve this forgotten series in the gaming industry.

Well, it’s been six months since Starfield launched and I’m still playing it every day. I’m 600-ish hours in, and only recently finished the UC Vanguard quest. Still got Crimson Fleet to go, and oodles of side quests and activities left as well.

I suspect I have at least another 2-300 hours left in me before I move on to some other game. Then again, Shattered Space is right around the corner…

I had to take a break because I really wanted to play other games. Since I played through Yakuza 0-6, currently playing Persona 3 Reloaded, Elden Ring to prepare for the DLC and Anuchard. I will finish P3P and P5T after, before going back to Yakuza Like a dragon.

I’ll probably be back on Starfield after I finish LAD:Infinite Wealth. So it could be a couple of months, if it takes me too long I will likely be play Shadow of the Erdtree before returning to Starfield. There is just so much to play!

I hear you. But every time I consider playing something else, I feel like there’s no point since I’d likely not enjoy myself as much as I would if I just fired up Starfield again. :man_shrugging:

Maybe one day. At this point I feel like only Dr. Jones will be able to tear me away from it.

After 0 and Kiwani 1 & 2, starting Yakima 3 takes a bit of adjusting to.

I’ve waited long enough. I finally started FFVII Remake on Steam.

Dead Island 2 finished. This is a really good video game. Beautiful, clean, smooth, tight and fun, and scoped just absolutely right with enough depth. Good video game.

Started Warhammer Boltgun. It’s fun… I’m enjoying it, it’s still early but I feel it’s a bit too basic and safe, I think Prodeus really raised the bar for the boomer shooter.

Boltgun went from like a 7 to a 9 after I found that there’s a button (Y) to shittalk your enemies…

“THE EMPEROR DEMANDS YOUR LIFE!”

Side Order (Splatoon 3 DLC) on Switch.

Kingdom Hearts 2 HD on Series X.

Astro’s Playroom and Kena on PS5.

Busy times indeed!

Finally getting around to Ori and the Will of the Wisps. I’m 41% completion and did Luna Pools, now in the Windswept Wastes. So damn good. I love the sense of never touching the ground that this game can build.

Also continuing to plug away at Vampire Survivors trying to finish the base game achievements. I’m at like 1025G.

And then very occasionally I load up Metroid Prime Remastered and make a little progress. I’ve probably beaten the original something like 4 or 5 times across GameCube and Wii and it’s fun to revisit with the improved art.
