Have you played Divinity Original sin 2? If so would you say BG3 is harder?
i just finished the second case in Frog Detective and this is one of the funnier games on the service. The writers have my kind of humor and every case ends with a dance number
I adore this game. Very funny and cozy.
I played that as well and think BG3 is easier. In DOS2 I didn’t get very far in the game, probably 4-6 hours in. The constant AoE effects, burning oil etc made me quit that one as well lol.
I always thought I was pretty good at turn based combat, but Larian games have always been pretty frustrating for me.
Thanks for the update, I myself played through DOS2 and managed my first playthrough by exploiting everything I could.
Lone wolf, ranger, crossbows, range, altitude, teleporting npcs around(I used this to avoid the dreaded oil refinery everything is fire fight and to isolate so many enemies from areas in the map that made no sense), death fog, lava, knockdowns. It was tough as heck, so many fights that I remember trying so many different set ups and hoping the enemy would do something else left me so salty when they didn’t give me an opening.
After my first playthrough a went through the game using different builds twice with build guides, the second was my most favorite since it was a solo and last full playthrough with an OC. I quickly learn that my do anything and everything still needed to be done, but with builds that hit like trucks, those fights were made somewhat easier.
Guess I need to look up more info on builds in both games then. I usually just wing it and build my own chars without looking up what works and what not.
I did make progress in BG3 last night though, think I am done above ground in Act 1 and just arrived in Grymforge in the Underdark.
In one fight, that was too hard before, I got unexpected help from another enemy that happened to be nearby. Instead of attacking me, it attacked my opponent at the time, helping me finish them off.
Finished Yakuza: LAD. Man, what a ride. Definitely on the best Yakuza game stories alongside Yakuza 0. I really liked it, even if I found some segments overly grindy and tedious (a loooooong tunnel dungeon in Chapter 6; excessive grinding necessary before the Chapter 12 boss fights; a boss with one-shot KO). I’m rather indifferent about the turn-based battle system. I never thought real-time brawling in Yakuza was all that fun. The auto-battle function speeds up things and the AI does a good job for normal battles, they can be quite fluid and fast. If I had been forced to input every command in the game, I would have needed a lot more than 46 1/2 hours. But I also wouldn’t call the new battle system outstanding - although I loved some of the ridiculous ideas they had to incorporate ‘magic’ into the real world. Moreover, I absolutely loved the cast. Ichi is a great protagonist, he’s almost ridiculously positive about humanity, but it’s quite infectious. Big fan of Han Joon-Gi and Seong-Hui as well.
I’m playing Baldur’s Gate 3 now, and I’ve finished DOS 2 so I’m chiming in here. I find Baldur’s Gate 3 a little bit easier but I think that is mainly due to me being very familiar with DnD. I kinda know what works, possible strategies and good synergies and builds.
It’s not an easy game though, and there’s always the RNG to keep in mind which is what makes these games unpredictable, but also so much fun.
Awesome game.
RNG is a killer. In my first playthrough of DOS2, I remember having so much trouble in the final act that it took at least 3 attempts per fight to at most giving up the strategy and thinking outside the box.
Like the Lord Kemm fighting in his dungeon. No matter what I tried it always felt that as soon as he joined the fight, Kemm would take 3 turns and give his back up 2 turns before it was my turn again. So, I gave up on fighting them head on and decided to go to Kemm’s last location, kill him and eat his source spirit. Not having him appear mid fight made the first fight a breeze.
I had a lot of difficulties in the beginning, took a while to learn things like using the environment and positioning properly. Once it clicked that that crazy idea you have might actually work in this game, I was hooked.
Yeah, that fight was brutal. I don’t remember exactly how i did it but there was a lot of teleporting and luck. Your way sounds much better, didn’t know about that. There’s so many ways to solve things in that game, love it.
It’s a good way to go about it and because of it I unfortunately have never done it any other way.
Trying to finish Judgment (great visuals, great plot) before Prince of Persia releases.
After putting Starfield on hold until the updates I want get released and dropping Diablo IV, I hope to start the Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn expansion tomorrow so I can get this completely done as I completed the base game a few weeks ago.
Just started playing Twin Mirror. It was super cheap some days ago (less than 5€) and I decided to buy it, since I like dontnod games.
First post. I re-started Starfield recently, so I have been playing that.
Started playing Lies of P last night on my ROG Ally. Ran great and WeMod made playing it actually fun for me, as someone who finds Soulslikes frustrating.
Playing Yakuza 5, the Saejima hunting parts are not fun, I had a lot of time saying fuck you bear every time one mauled me and I killed it, because I kept getting snuck up on. Just because I wanted to leave the village with everyone doing ok.
Yeah, I just got finished that part a couple of days ago and had the same experience. It felt like it should have been part of the main story missions, but much shorter.
Honestly, I felt they should had let Saejima bare hand fight everything and set traps instead of forcing us to hunt with the rifle. It would have made for some dumb fun, as we try to chase a deer only to run into a pack of bears.
They could even have kept the health drain active through to make it more of a challenge.
Started Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and cant put the controller down. What a damn fine videogame.
