Bought AC Valhalla Complete Edition in December and finally have the time to play. Right before it’s coming to Game Pass. :upside_down_face:

Already 10h+ into the game and exploration is much more rewarding than in Odyssey. For me it was always the biggest flaw and I thinks the change in Valhalla is so good.

A few changes for me.

Have dropped Starfield until the gameplay changes that I want the most are implemented (mass limit and vendor credits) as I can’t deal with being overcumbered anymore since I am someone that loots everything. Hell, it annoys me that I can’t get those food items out of the toasters!!! lol

Tried playing Cyberpunk 2077 and while I know it’s an excellent game, the interest, desire and motivation to play it is long gone so that’s been uninstalled.

So with two weeks remaining on my vacation, I will be starting Diablo IV this Monday. Only played a few hours and had everything setup the way I wanted it. Looking forward to diving back in. Diablo IV is now my only true backlogged game excluding Starfield. As long as I complete it by the time Banishers releases in February, I’ll be very happy.

Still Yakuza: LAD. I‘m in Chapter 12 now and the last segments have felt the most grindy in the whole game yet. Not a big fan of locking progress to money requirements and a huge surge in boss levels which you can only really overcome through leveling up. I have enjoyed the story of this game a lot though! I wasn‘t sure how Yakuza without Kiryu would work, and to my surprise it works really well! Still rather indecisive about the battle system changes. I never thought the brawler gameplay in the series was all that great, but turn-based battles don‘t exactly speed up proceedings either. I do like that they implemented automated fighting mechanics which are useful for easier mobs though.

Playing Yakuza 3R, and pretty good game with some annoying choices in combat(enemies blocking without needing to do the actual animation, at least once getting slashed by and enemy that as blocking with the animation, the amount of big boys that either we can’t throw or have to press B to get to throw them seems to increase in every battle to the point that sometimes that’s all I’m fighting) and leveling(the amount of XP we gain from street fights is abysmal, the level up screen being split into 4 bars that we choose to level for 1 or 2 skills).

Just finished my second playthrough of BG3 yesterday. I played at launch on Steam, then over the last several weeks on Xbox.

The game is great (clearly) and is much improved now over the launch experience, but it is still not bug free.

I had about half a dozen crashes to “desktop” on Xbox - with no clear common denominator on what caused them.

Performance during the very final stretch of Act 3 is still terrible, with waits during combat so long at times I thought the game had crashed - only for it to come back to life before I gave up and reset the system.

The most bizarre bug I had was that every single bit of gold (roughly 50,000) disappeared off my characters late in Act 3. Luckily I was completely geared up by then and didn’t really need gold for anything.

Despite all that I really enjoyed my second playthrough. I found lots of new quests/encounters and saw lots of new scenes I missed the first time through. In addition, the epilogue was a very welcome addition and really solved the problem of the game feeling like it ended too abruptly in its original state.

I’m sure I will return to this game at some point down the road, but for now I have deleted it from my hard drives so I’m not tempted to play again any time soon.

I’m playing more Switch atm because I can only play a bit here and there with work and other stuff being so busy for the next few months. I get too suck into my Xbox (particularly The Finals), and the ergonomics of the Switch Lite are too trash to play for long periods.

I started Mario Wonder, and it is quite fun. I don’t get why it is GOTY (well I have an idea…), but it’s still the best 2d Mario since World (which isn’t a high bar with that New Mario series).

I’ll have to wrap up ToTK afterwards. Man, that game is super long. Then Metroid Prime Remaster, Donkey Kong vs Mario remake and Paper Mario 2 remake. Maybe by the time I’m done with all those games, I can play HiFi Rush on Switch!

I’ve been playing dead by daylight nonstop…SOMEONE SEND HELP!!

I just started Slay the Spire. Its Loop Hero levels of addicting

I had Robocop off the Wife for Christmas and it’s ace fun, rough and cheap in parts, but then, so was the movie.

The Wife also got me a gift card so I could get The 7th Guest VR for the PS5 and that is a wonderful experience, It is like a Univeral Florida VR ride

Juggling way too much at the moment:

  • Switch: Advance Wars and SMTV
  • Vita: Freedom Wars (I’m hooked again)
  • 3DS: MH4
  • Xbox: MH Rise with the wife, Fallout76 (I’m pretty sure you all know that’s always on rotation), REmake, Front Mission Evolved, Banjo-Kazooie N&B

Just got to the section where I have to chase a triad member through the champion district on Yakuza 3, and I can’t do this. I’m really not good at the chase game type, and from what I understand I can only upgrade Kiryu’s abilities for it on chapter 9.

I don’t know if difficulty makes a difference but if it does I’m regretting starting the game on hard. The fact I have to do the entire fight if I decide to restart is also going to be get me to quit this game.

Oh… from what I remember when I beat it on PS3, I dropped from Hard to Normal pretty fast for that reason - there were some stupid difficulty spikes :frowning:

I guess I have to find out how to drop the difficulty. Because starting over again after 34 hours isn’t something I want to do.

After some searching the answer is, I can’t drop the difficulty and should just restart. So basically, I’m done with the game, until I feel I want to return to it.

I guess I should start Yakuza 5 since I can’t download 4.

So started Yakuza 5, and on normal just incase there’s something down the line like the chase game type.

Since I can’t play 4, I will be watching all cutscenes from it to get familiar with the story. Have also finished watching the rest of the story cutscenes from 3.

Enemies in 5 can still be pretty block heavy from time to time(although I feel they’re a little more grabby), but having a guard break for combo finishers helps a lot in those situations. Also, love the fact we get the heat mode ability so early.

I had Robocop, Scars Above, Avtar and Life Is Strange True Colours of the wife for Christmas. Robocop is ace but really supprised how much I’m enjoying Scars Above and Life Is Strange on the Series X

I was not expecting Yakuza 5 to be a Initial D game.

I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the game! It’s always nice when a game captures your interest and keeps you entertained.

Dead Island 2. When I hit a zombie with a wrench and its jaw was hanging off, I was hooked.

Everytime I load up Baldurs Gate 3 now, it only takes a couple of minutes before I run into another area full of traps or poisonous gas or exploding plants, or I run into some fight that takes a lot of effort to win, if even possible.

It makes me not want to load it up anymore, maybe I should play this at the easiest difficulty.

I’m playing on easiest and having a great time. But then i play games to relax not for a challenge. But recommend.
