The final boss music was very on the nose
Playing Skyrim Special Edition with about 10 mods on my Series X. I beat it before on PC when released but i never got “into” skyrim unlike i did with Oblivion but now i cant stop playing it.
Also finishing up AC Odyssey, im over 170h in and have 3 areas left + parts of the Atlantis DLC. I still cant believe how good this game looks nowadays.
Welcome to XboxEra!!!
Yeah, Odyssey still looks amazing 5+ years after launch. Such an excellent game as well.
Any interesting mods on Xbox? I’ve only done vanilla Skyrim.
Warthunder and Hearts of Iron 4 at the minute on PC.
Series X is now a dust magnet.
there are thousands of mods. i use:
Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch [USSEP]
A Quality World Map - Vivid with Stone Roads
SkyHUD - Oblivion Preset - Pastel Markers < cant play without it lol.
Rich Merchants of Skryim: Special Edtion
Unleveled Items
Skyland AIO ~ 1 GB “Skyland AIO is every Skyland mod all in one! This mod retextures everything from landscapes to dungeons to all architecture.” very noticeable imo. looks great.
IA92’s Special Console Graphics
M Rens Dark Nights < i play as Khajit and the Night Eye racial power is actually useless because vanilla nights are way too bright. This mods fixes that and makes the Night Eye even better with longer run time and better effect.
Acquisitve Soul Gems < i dont think this actually works. its supposed to only allow black souls into black gems when i soultrap a enemy but sofar i filled 3 black gems with GRAND souls. i have a empty one now and will see if this actually works or not.
i think thats all. dont wanna use too many mods. game runs great and is super stable. Skyland AIO has to be 2nd highest on the load order right under USSEP to work perfectly.
Thanks for the list!
I’m jumping across platforms a bit lately:
- Adios (Xbox)
- Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition (PS4)
- Retro City Rampage (Steam Deck)
- My Friend Pedro: Ripe for Revenge (Android)
Can’t quite recommend Adios, since the story isn’t interesting enough for a walking simulator. (It’s okay for a GwG freebie, I suppose.) But I had some fun with the other games, especially Bulletstorm (for the second time.)
If you enjoyed My Friend Pedro, check out Ripe for Revenge, which is included in Google Play Pass. Very short but fun.
Started up Yakuza 4. I did Y0, YK, YK2 and Y3 over the Fall and Y7 at the beginning of the year, but decided to take a 1 month break. I’m a little concerned the length of 5 might drag a little, but I’m hoping I can get through the rest before Wealth releases.
Completed Tales of Arise base game in about 50 hours.
- Visuals - 8.0/10 (great)
- Audio - 8.5/10 (great)
- Gameplay/Combat - 7.0/10 (good)
- Story/Characters - 8.5/10 (great)
- Overall - 8.0/10 (great)
Enjoyed Tales of Arise for the most part. The story, characters, etc. were the best part of the entire game for me. Kept me interested throughout. Combat and gameplay was good but wasn’t a fan of the skill trees. Audio and visuals were great but the NPC pop-in was horrible. I don’t know what it is with Japanese games but they always have horrible NPC pop-in. Same with FF XVI, Yakuza games and others. Literally, 10 feet away and NPC’s just pop in to place. But other than that and not being able to customize the HUD (hated not being able to turn off damage numbers), no other major issues for me.
Also completed the Resident Evil 4 (remake) expansion, Separate Ways. Overall, an 8.0/10 and really enjoyed it. Took me about 8 1/2 hours to get through but it was really good. I really want an RE game with Ada as the playable protagonist as the grappling hook is good, adds variety to the game in regards to traversal and boss fights were great. Also like Ada from a character standpoint. She’s bad but at the same time, has a line she doesn’t cross.
With work early this week and vacation starting on the 5th, I will just relax until then when I restart Starfield and have all of January to get through the game. No new games for me until Granblue Fantasy Relink, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in February.
I said I would take a break and not start it soon after Kiwami 1(which I started as soon as Yakuza 0 was done, which I started as soon as Gaiden was done), but I’m playing Yakuza Kiwami 2.
The game looks fantastics, the story is pretty good, the combat is fun as usual although I really missed Beast😢 DoD is finally good in the prequels and remakes. Not happy that Cabaret is back as I had no interest, and this Clan Creator mini game isn’t really my thing so that leaves a lot of side content and story to skip.
Been playing LOST PLANET 2 with 2 friends and had such a great time. Man I miss the Coop focus 360 games had back in the day. I wish Xbox would invest more in this space. (Hopefully Gears 6 allows for 4 player coop again)
Anyway LP2 is such a varied and fun experience with large sandbox levels for you to explore, with a tons of weapons and mechs to find and giant bosses to fight. Anyone who played the first game knows how this game controls but its basically Monster Hunter World with guns and mechs
The story feels like a great 90’s Action movie with a smart setup for coop play.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great time with a few friends, it’s oc back compat on current Xbox’s.
Do you think it’s worth trying out solo? Also, was there ever a demo for this game? I’m pretty sure I played a bit of this with friends back in the day.
Just finished Kiwami 2’s story, and I have to say weapons make everything pretty easy. Specially for this game, the sacred wooden Katana that drop from a random gold suit rich enemy.
That weapon is pretty strong, as it does about 68 damage and it has a 72 hits in total. I would say the second best us the dark wood Katana, with about 10 less damage and 36 hits per sword.
Mostly just Vampire Survivors again.
Playing Wasteland 3 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider recently.
W3 is such an amazing game…great quests, awesome writing (with a lot of humor too!), I love the snowy Colorado setting and the turn-based/tactical combat system is top notch. Clockwork Revolution was one of my most anticipated games from Xbox but after playing W3 (which is my first InXile game!) it is my most anticipated game. So much talent and potential in that team, can’t wait to see more from CR.
Now about SotTR I wasn’t the biggest fan of the 2013 reboot of the franchise but now that Rise was on Game Pass I decided to give it a chance and ended up enjoying it so I bought SotTR as I was curious to play it especially after reading the mixed impressions on the game all those years. The setting of SotTR is very good and Eidos Montreal tried to create something that is closer to the OG games with a much bigger emphasis on exploration/tomb raiding and it’s overall slower pace but the problem is that the game is being held back by the reboot’s way too easy platforming (and there’s a lot of it in this game), to be honest puzzles are not that challenging too but they are decent enough to hold interest. I think that if the platforming mechanics were more engaging Shadow would be a much much better game. Mentioning some recent example I think that SW: Jedi Survivor did a much better job balancing the game towards both the casual and the core audience IMO, platforming in Survivor is actually really good and much more engaging without it being super demanding or difficult (those platforming secret missions were really freakin’ good for example). So all in all I enjoy this game quite a bit for it’s impressive atmosphere/visuals and different approach than Rise but I think that with some changes it could’ve turn out an amazing game.
In the end I think that Rise is probably the better game mainly because it mixes things up better between action and exploration/platforming which actually hides quite well the rough edges of the game. I wish that with the new TR game Crystal Dynamics won’t be afraid to make things a bit more challenging and find a better balance between accessibility and engagement. Also it will be a shame that we won’t see this beautiful engine being brought to current gen because Shadow looks completely bonkers…they really nailed the look and atmosphere of the jungle, such an impressive work visuals wise from Eidos Montreal that barely anyone talks about.
The next games I am planning to play after Shadow are Alan Wake 2 and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, I am hyped AF for both of them!
In the past few weeks I’ve been playing Baldurs Gate 3, started over a couple of times but now am about 8 hours in with a half-elf Ranger. It’s a great game for sure.
Also bought Modern Warfare 3 from a gift certificate I got from work for Xmas. Finished the campaign and enjoyed it more than the last one, multiplayer has been a treat. So many memories from those old maps. My friends also just bought it so will put in dozens of hours in this the coming months. Just TDM and Domination.
Be careful. Make sure to turn on cross-save. Would suck to lose hours of game time to the save bug.
Hi, I’m playing diablo 3 on my Xbox One If you can’t comprehend any type of Diablo 4 level you need, then you can go here.
Welcome!

I’m playing Baldur’s Gate 3 and it’s very, very good. It’s giving Starfield competition for my GotY for sure.
