Gundam Evolution is a really fun game! Jumped in for a couple of matches, found my favorite unit in the Pale Rider. I’m thinking my reasoning for that is because it plays the most like a regular fps game.

An AR, 2 grenade types and a small healing zone, and because the power between units isn’t so disproportionate it can really hold its own. Thinking if watching some videos on YouTube to get some tips on getting better using it in match

Finished The Callisto Protocol on Maximum Security about a week ago and loved it, gameplay is really addicting cause there is enough depth there to tap into (perfect dodging in particular)…I still load some checkpoints to play again some particular combat scenarios/levels. Can’t wait for the story expansion (though it’s still far away) and most importantly the Hardcore mode in February to replay the game.

Still playing Bayo 3 too and after finishing Infinite Climax I am planning to beat Rodin and the witch trials before attempting to improve my ratings in the campaign (some of the Nifelheim challenges are hard AF). The game feels so fresh with the new gameplay additions, really happy that Platinum didn’t just release a Bayonetta 2.1 and tried something new with this one. Amazing game.

Also started High on Life a few days ago and I am having a blast with it so far, I really like the humor but the biggest surprise for me is how good the gameplay is. There isn’t a ton of stuff to play with or against but so far they did an excellent job keeping things fun and interesting with the tools that they had (and we have in the game) available. Also DEMON WIND…this game man! :phil_lmao:

Biggest pleasant surprise for me this year by far.

I’m still just playing BF 2042 for some reason. It’s not great, but I love the big battles of the series and the progression is kind of fun.

Will be time to move on soon though, but I think I’ll do a match a day for a while yet.

I have a good amount of games I should probably be playing between Game Pass and the ones i’ve bought. I haven’t played through Eastward yet and I have to finish Norco and Beacon Pines. I bought Lost Judgement for $15 and began to play but thinking of Starfield and Bethesda games gave me the craving to play Skyrim, so that’s what i’ve been playing for the last week.

Having a backlog and with 2023 coming full of games, im probably not using my time wisely. But eh. I don’t care lol.

Regular games of MW2 multiplayer and Slay The Spire. Also enjoying the trial of NFS Unbound a lot.

Also will buy Marvel Midnight Suns this week as I got a 50 euro giftcard from work for Christmas.

Are you a long time Battlefield fan? Is the game finally in a state where you could easily recommend it to long time fans or no? I love Battlefield but haven’t tried 2042 due to its’ poor reception.

Yeah, played it since BF 2.

I also held off until 2042 hit Game Pass, which I think was a good descision. The good maps are the ones that came with this season it seems, and they have done a lot of tweaks in general. Right now it’s…decent I’d say.

There are still this weirdness with the Specialists that is a bit off for Battlefield, but you get used to it I suppose. There’s a lot of progression which is nice and the Battle Pass is generous.

A lot of the maps are too big and just not good however, most of my “BF-moments” have been on the new/redesigned ones. When those intense battles happen you remember why you love this series, and that’s what keeps me playing.

The setting is a bit meh, with most of the futuristic things being a bit off, the whole thing feels a bit forced. I would’ve preferred historic or contemporary, but that is highly subjective I know.

I would recommend it if you play via Game Pass, I wouldn’t buy it unless in a good sale though. Overall it’s “ok”.

Finished High on Life. Enjoyed.

  • Great environments and aesthetics
  • A nice balanced structure, with welcomed exploration and metroidvania elements I very much appreciate
  • Funny a lot of the time.
  • Shooting and general encounters can be better but the multipurpose weapons are a plus, their personalities are huge fun too. Bosses were mostly engaging.

Cons:

  • Whatever story and the humor can be cringe a lot of the time too
  • General enemy encounters weren’t exciting especially with the mediocre shooting
  • Sound mixing is not great and mutes the environmental soundscapes. I had to lower the music in settings because it was too loud to make it better.

I’d say a 7 or 7.5 out of 10 is a nice number for it.

I’m gonna take a break from gaming for a while because I’ve been playing a lot lately and to ready myself for the avalanche of early 2023.

Just finished A Way Out, played it with my brother.

A masterpiece.

Damn good, really enjoyed it.

I played the first 3ish hours of Marvel Midnight Suns and had lots of fun, it truly seems like a mix of X-Com and Slay The Spire, with a little Fire Emblem Three Houses inbetween. I don’t care much myself for all the dialogue, but some of it was actually pretty funny so I’m not skipping everything yet.

The combat is really great, no hexes so you can freely move your heroes around the battlefield. It makes it easy to position yourself for knockback or AoE attacks that hit multiple targets. Each hero has it’s own set of cards and inbetween combat you can upgrade them, lots of SotS inspired stuff here which I like.

Looking forward to see more!

High On Life and Vampire Survivors are on rotation at my XSX right now. Thinking about NFS Unbound when I finish High On Life. Seems like a proper NFS again, if you can look past some minor things.

Trying to beat Scarlet Nexus, before it leaves Gamepass. Probably won’t have enough time though, but will try.

I beat Paper Mario 64. Great game although it should have been a little bit more challenging towards the end. I haven’t played this since the N64 gen, and it’s nice that one of my GOAT games didn’t disappoint me all of these years later.

The best mechanical thing about Paper Mario is the badge system, so I’m looking forward to replaying Thousand Year Door later which improves the badge system. Sushie is definitely the best companion especially since she does not require you to break your analog stick or rapidly smash a button like it’s a Mario Party game.

Right now, I’m just dabbling around with a bunch of N64 and Genesis games that I probably won’t complete: Winback, Pilot Wings, Shinobi 3, Ecco the Dolphin, Star Fox 64, that ugly Sonic pinball game, etc.

Soo I just finished Evil West. I really liked the game, the final boss fight was pretty neat as well.

On to Persona 5 Strikers!

Finished Hercule Poirot - The First Cases. Was pretty solid and shockingly bugfree - a first for a Microids title.

I’m on the last phase of Scarlet Nexus and damn, this game just is not good. I’m literally only playing cause I’m bored and the combat is somewhat fun(sometimes). I dont understand the amount of praise this game got, its literally a constant repeat of enemies and maps with some of the most awful level designs I’ve seen in a videogame in a long time.

I just beat High on Life. I bought Midnight Suns for Christmas and I play some Diablo 2 & 3 on Xbox. I don’t really want to game to much because I want to save gaming hours to count for 2023
