Syd Barrett era Floyd…
It’s a bit of a quiet, slow night tonight. Two good songs that I hit the replay button for. https://youtu.be/rARGPAkIcw4 https://youtu.be/BDUIJR3v_Qk
It’s Metal Monday (Well, technically Tuesday now, but it’s the thought that counts ) featuring Nocturnal Rites!
Widowspeak’s first single taken from their upcoming album The Jacket, due out March 11th
Blew out my car’s subs a couple years ago but had these on rotation… Just remembered them today and played them on repeat:
Psystep has really low bass, I’m thinking 20-40Hz which is usually cut off but some subs could pick it up. My sub monitor can barely pick it up (well I calibrated it to be as flat as possible) but the 10 inchers in the car can really push it out.
Not an album or song individually.
But this magnificent beast!!
Oh yeah Cerys didn’t just buy herself an OLED for Christmas, a MiniDisc player too!!!
So many old discs to hear.
Such fond memories of the MiniDisc I remember thinking they were the future before iPod put an end to that dream!
Voivod’s second single taken from their upcoming album Synchro Anarchy, due out February 11th
Yeah Minidiscs were my musical life when I was at college, I had a player for my car, a seperate at home, and 2 portables. I still have the portables but my MZ-N1 died (and is like 400 euro on ebay) and my oldest sharp portable isnt MDLP so only played 1/2 a dozen of my hundreds of discs.
I cried when I heard one of my favorite discs again for the first time in years
I was still using them super late, there were crazy handy for theatre/film for quick reproducable effects and really easy to setup with a mic and record a ton of stuff cheaply. I found a ton of discs of directors commentary from an indie film I did in Wales in the 2000’s in my box of stuff too.
LOVE THEM!
To be fair, Sony is probably more responsible for the death of minidisc than the iPod was, as the heavy decline started well before iPod popularity; high disc costs, limited support, poor implementation, etc.
But I digress…
Hi-MD
I put all my music on 2 or 3 of these. And the players looked so cool. They still are tbh.
I had a blue MZ-NH600 always in my pocket when outside. Pretty cool.
(Had a MZ-N510 before that)
Massive Bill Evans fan here!
One of the Inktober pieces I made of him
This is a really good piece! Nice job!
Thank you!

Just me or anyone else recognize a famous game intro motif in this?
A phenomenally great 80’s inspired Metal Album. They created a fake band for the game and made an entire album and it ROCKS.
Right now listening to my neighbours having a fight in the yard. Waking up the whole neighborhood… I think he did something naughty with his wife’s sister.
