Absolutely in love with this game, feels like Fallout meets XCOM.

The writing is superb as well, cracked me up a couple times, humour is on point. Canā€™t wait to dog in more feel like I will lose many hrs to this.

Really great game, did a lot of quests in the Colorado Springs town today. So many possibilities. This is a true RPG. You can kill each and every NPC, you can side with tons of factions and alter the story dramatically, and nothing is like it seems at first! Battles are fun and the voice acting is top notch. I do have some issues with the camera, not just for refocusing it, but also in battles when I want to place granades, turrets etc. In indoor areas Iā€™ve had some situation where it became unplayable if I really wanted to use the items and just had the camera go gaga. But Iā€™m sure this will be fixed soon enough. I love Wasteland 3!

Oh you are there I see. Did you use her abilities? She is really strong!

I meant more as a character, her character development is surprising me! I thought of her more as a snob, especially given the circumstances where you meet at the Sheriffā€™s Station, but she has really grown on me.

Spoiler about story development after a mission north of Colorado Springs

I let her kill Isaac, her ex-boyfriend, and later she was wondering if that was true justice, with her voice cracking. The voice acting is so strong and makes these moments very appealing.

In combat, yeah, sheā€™s really good. I always buy her the best revolver available when I have the cash, sheā€™s a great shot. Along with the revolver, I equiped her with a shotgun, although that hasnā€™t been getting much use because she is kinda fragile compared to some of my more tanky guys (Kwon, for example).

On a side note, maybe itā€™s because Iā€™m playing on Ranger difficulty, but in Wasteland 3 compared to 2, the automatic weapons seem to use a lot more ammo than they used to. Itā€™s been hard dealing with 2 characters both using assault rifles.

Iā€™m playing also in Ranger difficulty with friendly fire on and she is quite robust. Yeah her character surprised me too after the garden if you know what I meanā€¦

TIP: If youā€™re strapped for cash get in the Kodiak and explore the world a bit, you get A LOT of junk that you can sell, I made like 300 bucks just selling scrap that I found in like 5 minutes

Also you could try to finesse black jack but InXile pulled a New Vegas and makes you autosave after every black jack round to prevent save scummingā€¦the bastards at InXile finessed the finessers

My main character is basically all melee and Iā€™ve built him to the point where I can hilariously run across fights and just 1-2 shot everyone. No guns for this guy, just melee and armor.

I tried finess the casino machines lol was forbidden to play it again. You can make good money with the scrap. Haha unlocked a success by firing and getting an ally down, friendly fire, Lucia caught in a crossfire sorry Miss lol.

The Goat in Little Vegasā€¦bruuuuuuuhā€¦

I created customer characters and I made one of my characters massively OP by just focusing on strength and HP and giving him purely melee weapons, he runs around decimating everyone.

You could also bump it down to easy if you want to just play for story. No shame in that.

Manā€¦ your choices do make a difference! lol ā€¦

Thanks, Iā€™ve just started doing just that, up until this point I was just doing missions around Colorado Springs, so I hadnā€™t really tried that. However, from all the missions, I almost have all the top weapons and armor that the gun vendor has in Colorado Springs, next up Iā€™ll invest in weapon mods and building up the Kodiak, I guess.

About weapons mods, inXile has prevented save scumming because your weapon modder now canā€™t remove a weapon mod once itā€™s attached to the weapon. Used to do that all the time in Wasteland 2, so pretty early in the game I already had all my characters with most mods, basically.

Also, guys, as a tip, I think itā€™s important to have spare energy weapons in your inventory, in case you have to fight robots, as they work best on them.

This game is absolutely amazing, canā€™t wait to play more today!

At beginning was reluctant on recruiting her, now I just love her, by far my best character. Her revolver is so OP! Beautiful!

So I went on a character creation spree last night for squad mates. I made an extra 4 different squad members to change in and out as different specialists. They seem to scale on creation to your level, but Iā€™m still early on. Anyone else try this?

Lmao ah finally you saw it. Couldnā€™t contain my laughs when discovered The Joker.

The character creation in the game is pretty insane. I canā€™t stand these RPGā€™s that put you in a typical warrior/mage/rogue archtype. I love having a big dumb brute that can go around 2 shotting people with a big melee weapon

Same! Her Barter skill is very valuable as well.

Lucia started off really slow for me, she generally got obliterated by the first enemy that looked at her. I benched her for a while and recently started using her again, she got much better with some leveling up and is pretty great nowā€¦

A few missions in. The difference between this and WL2 on console is staggering. This is so simple, refined and aesthetically pleasing, all things WL2 wasnā€™t, but is still narratively brilliant which WL2 was. I donā€™t think the tactics is 100% on par with say, XCom, Gears Tactics or Fire Emblem but it is damn good all the same.

But holy fuck, the UI is so good. Switching between aiming modes, changing weapons on the fly, end moves vs end turns, etc. It all works so well and makes the most of a controller in a way I have never seen a CRPG do before. It is outstanding!

Also, being able to zoom in to a nearly third person view is great for immersion. Reminds me of InXileā€™s Bardā€™s Tale ARPG. Iā€™m not sure if I will have the time to finish it if it truly is 50+ hours, but this really shows how InXile has grown and utilized the resources of MS to create an experience that is just as great on console as it is PC. I hope Obsidian follows suit with their CRPGs.
