It’s Friday, I got the house to myself and my boss is on vacation. Today is going to be a light work day so I can get some time with this.
Holy shit, this is so good. I am extremely surprised, the combat seems to be a step up already. Way more fluid and less clunky that W2’s. Graphics aren’t best in class, but still a major upgrade from W2 as well. Tone and ambiance seem to be on the right track. Inventory system and UI are more manageable now. Loving it (from playing 40 minutes).
You picked the Father + Daughter duo, yes? I picked the first one, the one that had a Field Medic. Coming from W2, having a field medic was extremely important to keep my squad toped up.
The game is so good. Started with the tech couple then restarted as a custom group. Is there anyway have a custom player later? It’s the first game I can’t wait to get back to in a LONG time. The options and combat are great. Really liking it. Not very far in though.
You can make custom recruits when you get the option to recruit people.
I want to jump in tonight, but knowing I’ve got AC to finish I neeeeeed to hold off. Two big open world games at same time would break my mind haha. So excited for this though, looks amazing.
Thanks, not sure how I missed that! I’ll go back and look. Any one play as a brawler? If so how is it working out for you?
I made a couple of custom characters (which I kinda regret now) but my sniper Icepick is the same way, she is just destroying everything…

The game is a must have for anyone that likes RPGs, or at least give it a chance. So far, from what ive played, its one of the best games that came out this year.

So what is the best thing to do, create your own characters or pick from the pre set? If its the preset which ones are the best
I picked the father daughter combo. I kind of regret not making my own but hey there’s always next play through.

I lost 40 bucks at Blackjack and tried to reload, the game will auto save after each Black jack attempt

Pretty easy. Make sure to target the explosives objects around to cause big damage.

Yeah the oil barrels are VERY useful in the early fights for sure.
I had to restart the fight where the rocket launcher guy was, once or twice, I’m starting to get the hang of it. You really need to make sure you’re covered at all times.
I did create mine. Brother & sister team combo. One with assault rifle, full on taming beast and sneaking, pick lock thief, intimidation. The other, submachine gun, freak of electronics, and weird science, medic and talkative specialist of negotiations.
Love this game!
I can’t even imagine a full blown 3rd person AAA rpg full next gen

Don’t forget to put yourself in good cover & defensive mode. Also equip the medkit if you found one to heal yourself during battle. Also try overwatch ability to fire on enemies making moves.
I finished previous XCOMs so Im right at home here lol. Love the combat.

Yeah I just think I hadn’t gotten the mechanics down right, once I got it everything clicked and it was easy, but when you don’t know what you are doing it’s the second fight of the game and you are outnumbered like 5-2 but once I figured out how things worked better it wasn’t a problem.

What’s the range on the barrels anyway because I don’t want to nuke my own character. Is it just every tile around it or is it a bigger radius? My sniper hasn’t really needed to bother and I didn’t want to attack them with the melee guy since I figured it would just kill or seriously mess him up.
