Honestly every xbox discussion went to shit when Zenimax was acquired but things are getting far worse now that MS bought ABK. Donth think things will improve.
See, I hate to always go “Xbox bias” but fuck it, had this game been multiplatform we wouldn’t have seen this many negative tweets and articles. Don’t know about ya’ll, but I have seen very few positive tweets about the game since it released. Not from big sites, not from some lesser big sites.
If player numbers are now going down (if they are at all) is it really that shocking? It’s an SP game, it’s not like an everlasting MMO. Also, where are these kind of tweets for Spidey, or for Alan Wake 2, or for Baldur’s Gate 3?
It’s easy to be negative with your SEO. 99% of these articles are just taking social media posts and done in 5 minutes to get hate clicks. Content farm garbage
There is no more powerfully easy SEO in gaming news than negative xbox takes. The people writing it often feel it’s “accurate” too, so that doesn’t hurt.
It’s just incredibly silly. Because I truly don’t see these type of articles and tweets for any other singleplayer game. While they would just as much apply to any other SP game, if they are doing it for Starfield. Meh.
What’s funny these lazy journalist won’t even bother mentioning that the game is still in the top 10 most played on Xbox and I am sure it’s doing nice numbers on pc gamepass. Honestly, the whole trend about steam player count check is gross . None of the people that bring it up negatively add any context to it. Like I remember on Reddit I saw a person create a thread about Nickelodeon player count on steam dropping , but steam is most likely not the audience for that game and player base is most likely on console
Starfield casts a large shadow. Steam isnt even that important anymore. When Starfield exceeded 1 million concurrent players, beating out Baldurs Gate 3, only 250,000 were on steam. Meaning the Xbox/Windows store 3:1’d steam in the least.
Those dipshits are going to get their jimmies rustled with every new milestone. I only wish it had a leaderboard.
Dissenting voices are always welcome, so welcome. Also, steam is huge, but using its numbers for console wars doesn’t tell the whole story as it still charts high on the Xbox ecosystem, Steam isn’t the whole gaming industry.
