The discourse out there is pretty bad after Starfield

Honestly every xbox discussion went to shit when Zenimax was acquired but things are getting far worse now that MS bought ABK. Donth think things will improve.

It’s not playing victim. If anything, youre gaslighting. Xbox tax is a real thing. The BS needs to stop.

That said though things will be changing soon enough.

See, I hate to always go “Xbox bias” but fuck it, had this game been multiplatform we wouldn’t have seen this many negative tweets and articles. Don’t know about ya’ll, but I have seen very few positive tweets about the game since it released. Not from big sites, not from some lesser big sites.

If player numbers are now going down (if they are at all) is it really that shocking? It’s an SP game, it’s not like an everlasting MMO. Also, where are these kind of tweets for Spidey, or for Alan Wake 2, or for Baldur’s Gate 3?

Its a damn SP game how on earth can it be in trouble? It hung around player charts for months

“Gamingbolt could be in trouble, as clicks numbers plummet”

It’s a singleplayer game… Well, masks are certainly off. Anyone claiming there is no bias is a godamn cultist.

It’s also wrong, the game is doing very well.

It’s easy to be negative with your SEO. 99% of these articles are just taking social media posts and done in 5 minutes to get hate clicks. Content farm garbage

Sure, but even in that there is bias against Xbox. I could make up hundreds of negative clickbaitey shit posts about other platforms…

There is no more powerfully easy SEO in gaming news than negative xbox takes. The people writing it often feel it’s “accurate” too, so that doesn’t hurt.

That feeling is the bias.

These fuckers could rile up just as many people for clicks by making things up about Spidey.

It’s just incredibly silly. Because I truly don’t see these type of articles and tweets for any other singleplayer game. While they would just as much apply to any other SP game, if they are doing it for Starfield. Meh.

There is a dedicated thread about the Starfield discourse and people still posting it in the OT.

Cleaned up the Starfield OT a little by moving the recent posts like that into this thread.

What’s funny these lazy journalist won’t even bother mentioning that the game is still in the top 10 most played on Xbox and I am sure it’s doing nice numbers on pc gamepass. Honestly, the whole trend about steam player count check is gross . None of the people that bring it up negatively add any context to it. Like I remember on Reddit I saw a person create a thread about Nickelodeon player count on steam dropping , but steam is most likely not the audience for that game and player base is most likely on console

I wish they would explain WHY I should care about steam numbers for a SP game months after it launches.

Even if it had only 1 player on steam how does that impact me?

Starfield casts a large shadow. Steam isnt even that important anymore. When Starfield exceeded 1 million concurrent players, beating out Baldurs Gate 3, only 250,000 were on steam. Meaning the Xbox/Windows store 3:1’d steam in the least.

Those dipshits are going to get their jimmies rustled with every new milestone. I only wish it had a leaderboard.

In your rush to post you entitely missed the point of the post, where Steam made up less than 25% of the Starfield playerbase.

Got so mad they had to make an account with a sarcastic name and everything.

Dissenting voices are always welcome, so welcome. Also, steam is huge, but using its numbers for console wars doesn’t tell the whole story as it still charts high on the Xbox ecosystem, Steam isn’t the whole gaming industry.
