Anyone got a good list of Starfield content creators on youtube? I follow a few, but could always use more.
I would recommend MajorSlackAttack, but he mostly does walk through videos (recently started his Starfield walk through) and eventually challenge videos with commentary. So I’m not sure if anyone that’s been playing Starfield since release and has gotten tips from other sources would watch it.
He’s also a bit of an acquired taste imo.
What youtubers do you recommend? Since usually follow mostly variety YouTube channels that play a lot of different games(which is part of why I follow Slack).

Try to imagine the equivalent headline if Phil Spencer announced during the investor call that half of their games planned through early 2026 can’t meet internal milestones. Somehow I don’t think it would be “Xbox cares for quality over quantity”
Sony Interactive has punched itself out of the fight.
Ita nuts that Naughty Dog just cant figure out a multiplayer mode after 7 years, but Sledgehammer threw together another Call of Duty in 18 months.
Tbf, Sledgehammer has been doing MPs for years (?) I believe. ND doesnt have that kind of experience in making MP games, Sony studios as a whole, if we’re being honest,
It’s not really naughty dog doesn’t understand multiplayer. It’s the fact that you’re turning on multiplayer mode into a live service. They made multiplayers things before. Hell the original factions was really good. Some of you guys got to realize that this was being turned into a live service before bungie even came to the picture so I’m pretty sure they’re struggling with that
How much of Naughty Dog is still Naughty Dog?
I swear I’ve been reading for years about their revolving door issues, notably during The Last of Us Part 2 development.
It means there’s a whole load of people who made Naughty Dog great who aren’t there anymore.
Uncharted 2 and 3 multiplayer were fun tbh. Right up there with BioShock 2 as a tacked-on multiplayer mode that no one asked for but ended up being pretty worthwhile against all odds.
Uncharted 2 MP was pretty fun, hell I even liked TLOU multiplayer for like a month or so.
What’s even more nuts, is that when I tried to urge caution about Factions (you know… because it’s been delayed at least three times, was supposed to launch in 2020, and we haven’t seen a single second of gameplay), I was dismissed by some here because they have a track record. As a former track runner, that phrase was never meant to make one bulletproof from criticism or from said subject being immune to mistakes/failures. Furthermore, Naughty Dog’s track record on multiplayer is objectively weak… so ironically I was proven right on both fronts.
The track record thing is funny because there are studios at Xbox with good to great track records that still don’t get the benefit of the doubt most of the time. I still remember how people ( even a few “xbox influencers”) seem to take that silly ass 4chan rumor about Playground games "switching to Unreal Engine because of dev problems " BS at face value. Playground Games track record seemed to mean fuck all to them.
That was the other reason I knew those posts were full of shit; there are literally studios that have existed longer than ND, with arguably better track records that don’t get anywhere near the credit/trust they deserve; at Xbox and elsewhere. Rare had a period where you could say they didn’t cater to a specific audience, but even at their “worst” when they were putting out Kinect games they were still selling massively… sales in this case are the best way to judge success with players, and they rarely missed on that metric, but you still have clowns pretending as if the myriad of more-prestigious/successful devs don’t exist… all the way up the media chain.
That was always a dog whistle for Sony fanboyism.
360 Rare were so underrated, they had an insanely diverse and experimental lineup. I don’t think that studio under Xbox made two similar games. They continue to have success under Xbox and yet you still see people say “they fell off” or whatever, while literally having their most successful IP ever in SoT.
They were and so was their tech RARE had some of the best tech out of any developer back in the 360 era. I think the issues were RARE made a Banjo and Kazooie game which no one really wanted - most wanted a real B&J game then having RARE work on Kinect and the Avatars which was always going to get pushback from die-hard fans and gaming fans in general.
Sadly in today’s world it’s more about sales or some lame metric rating that counts the most compared to how much people actually enjoy a game.
If Sea of Thieves did not have 30+M players it would be laughed at a failure. SOT is the perfect example of enduring game supported by the gamers no matter what the gaming press thinks.
I’m sorry I should have done a better job of explaining myself. What I meant was that the console keyboard fans will look to use actual retail sales rather than number of players as a measure of success or superiority
May I give an example? When some here were going OTT over hoping for a SEGA buyout no one was saying how enduring PSO2 was and how many millions of players it got SEGA was all just about Sonic and Yakuza for reasons not to buy SEGA
If the roles were reversed and it was Xbox games selling millions of games at retail and the PS fans were having to talk of the number of players I think some Xbox fans would look to talk of sales at retail.
In the same way XBox fans looked to call out SONY fans when SONY was only publically revealing PS3 monthly shipments and not actual retail sales only for XBox to the same or worse by not revealing hardware monthly sales with the One
When all that really matters is how much net profit the gaming section is making but the console keyboard fans don’t care about that data. That was the point I was trying to make very badly.
I don’t know if the “Xbox Tax” is real. But what I do know is that this year, Sony released a single first party exclusive (Spider-Man 2), assuming you don’t include the patch to GT7 for VR and the Horizon VR game (I don’t have a $600 PSVR 2 add-on). And while I enjoyed playing Spider-Man 2, it was still only just one game for my PS5 from Sony first party.
On the other hand, for my Xbox from Xbox Game Studios I am able to enjoy Hi-Fi Rush, Redfall, Starfield, Forza Motorsport 2023, Age of Empires II for Xbox, Age of Empires IV for Xbox, Golden Eye, Minecraft Legends and Quake 2 Remaster. Not to mention, 2 expansions for Forza Horizon 5.
Needless to say, what is most important to me is where I have fun playing my games. In 2023, it was on my Xbox Series X and Team Xbox knocked it out of the park for me.
Press is going into overdrive:
Kotaku:
Eurogamer:
No mention in the article that Starfield is #9 and Skyrim is #32 on XBL.
I have never ever seen gaming press having such a hate boner for a single video game.
Yeah, I have seen this headline in local media as well. It is very well synchronized among the cult, almost as if they get directives from the clergy.
Kotaku is not unexpected, negative rage bait is their whole bread and butter these days.
Eurogamer though… I want to know which editor there has Starfield occupying their head rent free. The level of desperation to convince people to not enjoy a specific game is absolutely hilarious.
