It’s November 1st and it’s at #8 in most played (USA).
I always though Anthem should have been Bioware’s take on Monster Hunter. Taking down creatures using different armor types. You could have a very robust single player and MP with that.
I played the whole game solo too. The biggest problem IMO was the completely uninteresting story and characters. In a BioWare game that’s a huge problem.
The basic gameplay was fine, good even. The online functionality amounted to a whole lot of nothing.
I came away with the same feeling as with Mass Effect Andromeda. It’s great that they’re making competent third person shooters now. But that doesn’t matter without the characters and role-playing that make people actually care about BioWare games.
I’ve never played Anthem so can’t comment. Im pretty sure I own a copy though.
Not convinced they did. See below:
It’s the same here. The singleplayer game Starfield is still in the top 10 Most Played Games and is in its third month…
These f***ers tried haaard but ultimately failed spectacularly to keep the game down.
Now the title of this thread has been debunked can we either rename it or merge it into another thread?
-
Starfield is still in the top 10 two months on.
-
Xbox are releasing more first party games then they ever have (and Sony).
-
Third party support is the best it’s ever been.
-
Studios are thriving, growing in head count all the time.
-
The Series X/S is outselling the X360 at the same point (their best ever generation).
-
They have completed ABK.
-
They have record player counts (even more so with ABK).
-
A new refresh is on its way with a new controller and new features.
-
They have already confirmed more acquisitions are planned.
Meanwhile PS are having the complete opposite experience. I think this thread is essentially redundant.
Discourse is still bad not sure what is wrong about the title?
All you say is true but isn’t reflected in the discourse generally…
Exactly this , the results of the game isn’t reflected in the discourse. If I didn’t know much I would think this game flopped but the results are the opposite . You can go on most places on social media and see how people view it negatively and if you’re positive about it you get attacked . Also, we even have the crazy thing happening where YouTube content creators who are positive about the game aren’t getting visibility due to the grifters getting top results
You get more clics if you title your video or post as “Starfield, what a shame”
Just criticize the system.
Yeah, the clickbait merchants really ruined discussion of video games, but I haven’t seen it on the level of Starfield. It’s funny for a game that they hate so much, they’re still generating content 2 months after it’s release date. IT’s obvious anti-Starfield content generate views, but it’s a damn shame that is hurting actual content creators that are making positive content about the game.
Pretty much this. Speaking of all the shit Sony is going through right now, outside a couple of Journalists not a lot of noise made about it. Imagine if it were Xbox , scratch that we don’t have to imagine. When MS had it’s layoffs it was front page news, everyone was talking about it. Seems like Sony’s issues are being swept under the rug largely. I don’t hear any words like “Mismanagement” or phrases like " talent retention issues " being thrown around like they are with Xbox. Just an observation.
Fanboys and the Media REALLY REALLY tried to create narratives to tank Starfield, none of them worked but they are still trying and seem to be in complete denial about it.
Starfield should be studied as a case of Media/Fanboy bias and how a good game can actually over come all that bullshit.
I imagine they will get more disappointed as the game will only grow bigger in time. Mod support is coming and with Grounded adding Forge one could only imagine what would happen if similar was placed in Starfield allowing for new campaigns and stories from players in the Universe. It just might be the game of the generation that the media might have to acknowledge.
I took a break after about 48hrs of gameplay waiting on the HDR patch for the Series X, I’m barely 1/3rd through the main quest and have barely started the UC faction quest. This game will have some series legs, I mean I have over 2 days of full gameplay and have barely done anything and I think the game looks good in SDR but with the HDR patch and config setting for Gamma, Contrast, Brightness it should look killer.
I’ll be playing this game for years.
The current thing is bitching about a COD pop up that happens one time when you turn on your console and takes all of a second to get rid of. Trying real hard to make this into a “controversy”.
Hilarious how certain other sites are desperately playing up anything Xbox related because they’ve had to “endure” a week of bad news for Sony/Playstation.
Xbox outsold the PS5 in Japan recently, you’d never know cause not only have I not seen any articles on it even so called gaming forums that were created to discuss sales related news isn’t talking about it.
Seems sales only matter when Sony is selling more.
It’s the “Obama Tan Suit” of videogame controversy. It’s funny to watch because they’re desperately trying to make it a big deal.
Frankly it’s pathetic, for the same folks that parrots these words “Corporations are not your friends”, they sure like to suck up to one.
