The Big ol' Xbox 3rd Party Releases Discussion Thread (HiFi, SoT, Pentiment, Grounded) (Part 1)

These rumors make no sense to me…

Pay Disney to make Indiana Jones exclusive yet turn around & make other exclusives multi-plat? Stop and cancel a Starfield PS5 version yet port a smaller game like Hi Fi Rush to PS5?

I’m not saying these rumors are false but everything just seems odd…

Probably timed exclusive for like a year or two. I’m fully expecting everything to come to ps now at some point . Once it’s officially confirmed with hi fi I’m probably just gonna cancel gamepass and just wait for things to come to ps at some point. Maybe I’ll turn it on again for a major game like hellblade for example. I don’t like the direction Xbox has been taking but it is what it is. Still love the console

So help me out. Unless you’ve been under a rock, you know Playstation is also porting its exclusives to PC. And they are trying to make GaaS work for them. And I believe they’ve talked about mobile to some degree. They’ve also talked about their own cloud push coming eventually.

Doesn’t it all seem a little too familiar? Like Xbox from 5+ years ago?

Edit: Oh, and there was that leaked slide where they said their own business is outdated compared to Xbox? Doesn’t it seem just a tiny bit like they are headed down a very similar path?

I believe they stopped Redfall development for PS5 too. Also Nick said Blade is exclusive, even though they didn’t say it themselves yet, but I believe Nick when he says these things.

It’s extremely odd, especially with how ABK succeeded. Sure, the decline in hardware sales especially in Europe isn’t great, but I did not see this coming. I guess we can keep saying “if it’s true” but with the sources we got now, I think it’s true.

I hope that post by the person RE is true, that hardware isn’t going anywhere, and at the end of the day that is ALL that matters for me.

One can make a XSX like pc with 3060.

I made the one with 4070 for ~$1000. It is twice as powerful in raw rendering. Thrice when include RT and Upscaling.

More then twice the power for twice the money is more then fair

They are looking to change the whole landscape, its a masterstroke, its akin to saying we are the only player that matters and this is what we are doing. Console sales mean nothing going forward. They will scoop the new recruits with ease, showcasing flexibilty like no one before.

Don’t link the over a year old classification on the Autralia rating board, that site is never accurate. They have had Redfall coming to sd cards, usb, ps4, mobile etc. for a year+

Is that why it ran at 30 fps at launch? Damn SD cards and USB holding it back. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Who is Phil, I thought this guy runs Xbox

Lol, looks like it’s getting rough out there

Oh boy!

Slippery slope, lol. If this is actually true. Ill sell my xbox and move on. As they are looking to go third party at this point.

You have abk with call of duty on other platforms and you still want to put the small exclusives this gen elsewhere??.

If I was Xbox and knowing this isn’t true, the announcement post for DD should be read like, “Join us to take a sneak peak at next lineup for first party titles, where you can only get them on Xbox platform.” Kill two birds with one stone.

“looking to go 3rd party at this point”… no, they’re already 3rd party. This doesn’t mean they’ll no longer have their own platform/console.

Does Xbox have a history of directly addressing rumors like this? I don’t believe Sony and Nintendo talk about rumors, but Xbox is more commutative so idk.

It wasn’t even that long ago that Phil/Xbox said the games go to wherever Game Pass is on.

So what happened to that? So far the rumors haven’t once mentioned that Sony and Nintendo are getting Game Pass.

why would thos platform holders put a competitor’s subscription service on their platform

think criticall yplease

He’s talking about revenue and yes that is their goal and yes, if the mobile store takes off then it’s easy to see it happening

Unless it’s for specific things like the leaked emails last year, no they usually don’t comment, most companies don’t

I feel bad for the non-exec Xbox employees, having to deal with public outrage in the front lines
