Yeah, I think at this point I expect most games that haven’t been announced to be multiplat. I feel this whole thing is a mess, and we need some clarification especially when it comes to next gen consoles.
Well there’s that. I think it’s a stupid decision to not even make it a timed exclusive but oh well.
I’m not that shocked if the new Doom is multiplatform right out of the gate. It’s probably a sequel to Eternal, isn’t it? And both 2016 and Eternal are on PS as well.
TES VI isn’t a sequel, it’s a brand new mainline entry. So I don’t see it as a given that it will be multiplatform at launch. But who knows, things clearly are changing. A few months ago we all probably would have thought a new Doom absolutely would be exclusive.
This isn’t a direct sequel either.
Seems like a no brainer. Why limit Doom to only Xbox and PC customers ?
Game should be as big as possible.
It’s not a sequel to Eternal? Hmmm, I see.
Then I agree that they should at least just give it some time as timed exclusive, see what it potentially does in terms of Game Pass sub increases.
Ah well, times are changing. It’s for Sony too, they bring their games to PC, just not to Xbox. They don’t need to.
I’m pretty sure the leak says it takes place in a completely different time period.
So with Doom launching on PS5/PC and Xbox the only things still missing from the Discord Leak would be Flight Sim 2024 launching as a multiplatform game and Xbox going the OEM route for hardware. Everything else turned out true, correct?
That’s actually really funny.
Also funny: Chances are that Xbox is going to be the worst platform to play Doom on when PS5 Pro launches.
I’m thinking multiplatform games are going to be announced as such at the showcase in June, with platform logos in trailers etc.
I am just wondering how they expect to improve console sales or are they just writing off the xbox series x/s gen. I don’t see how you entice people to purchase an xbox if games are also on PS5. Def halting game purchases on xbox because too much uncertainty, but I’ll buy some indies or play anywhere games with MS reward points
But I guess the exact same thing can be applied to TES VI.
TES VI will be multiplat imo
Exactly, I can’t see the logic in giving people less reason to buy the console and expect even the same amount of console sales, let alone expect more console sales.
When Phil deaded the exclusivity arguments during the Bethesda round table I didn’t think it would be over after just 3 games.
They’re not. They’re writing off the brand. When Phil Spencer told gamers to expect Zenimax games to be exclusive to places where game pass is, he lied. I honestly can’t believe a word he says after this.
Its all going to be white washed with “who wants fewer people to play games?” Kumbyyahing Phil always does.
I was heavily criticised when I said this, but they want to kill Xbox consoles and they want to be a third party, the largest publisher in the world. This is not something that should be controversial, this is what they think makes business sense for them.
With these actions, they are heading towards that direction.
The fate of exclusivity rested on 2 games that were not even made under Xbox.
Yeah, I can see that being the case too.
Wonder if they just outright confirm Doom for PS during the show, why tf even hide it anymore and for then to see articles online where it’s confirmed? Just show all the logos after that trailer/demo.
When can the rational discussions begin again. The true loss
Yeah, it’s clear that is the direction they’re going. I am unsure what they’re doing with hardware because that’s the main driver of gamepass. However, I think its clear gamepass is no longer the main driver for the company and they’re in get revenue mode, which will result in going third party. Anyway, they have a tough hill to climb if they’re going that route.
