Ok I might not be wrong
So 4 smaller games are the beginning. Phil was specifically asked about Starfield and Indy and his response really sounded like they will eventually be multiplatform. It is what it is.
Happy to see commitment to hardware. Xbox will still be my GP + multiplatform console the rest of the gen and Ill see how it goes.
Diablo on GP best news.
Sooooooooooooo we all can agree there was an overreaction? Even for me :v
Yeaahh…about that.
I think that could be a good idea. Developers wont be as hesitant about the mobile version since people clearly want that
Even though I like owning my game discs, I think a Game Pass streaming stick should be a priority for Microsoft and Xbox.
It would have in my mind lots of gigabytes, so you can download the game and play that game offline and if you want to save space stream the game, or just stream it, while you wait for it to download.
If you want to own your games, you’d have to buy a Xbox console, so this would be a way to get casual gamers into Xbox.
It really depends on the 4 games and how the industry changes. Honestly we all can chill.
After seeing SONY’s recent report it really made me re-think some things. Like @saintsflow20 said, we are starting to see the cracks of Xbox and PS current models and it would be stupid to continue to do things without changes.
His response was “we’re only committing to 4 games now”, which is all it will ever be because that’s how business speak works. You never commit when you do not have to.
I don’t remember them discussing this? I’ll have to go rewatch it now.
My only real gripe with today’s update was that it seemed like there was no reassurance about what would happen after these 4 games, which this would technically explain.
This is from the Verge interview with Phil:
He isn’t ruling anything out, but I see what you mean.
We will never know what kind of stuff they truly were planning to bring. Perhaps a lot of those rumors were true and they saw the reactions and they decided against it. Or not. Who knows with rumors.
Yes and from me too. But my “path” isn’t changed. Way I see it if consoles continue as they are, and the next ones are “it’s stationary boxes again, but now they’re more powerful!” then I’m just gonna see them as prebuilt PCs that have paid online.
That’s why I hope a handheld Xbox turns out good because I would pick that up.
The future is not even handheld, it’s cloud. It’s just a matter of time.
He said something along the lines of never say never and that we shouldnt strive for exclusives in this industry. For me that is pretty telling but whatever.
Will be interesting to see what they announce this holiday but yeah I agree. In the next decades Ninty will be the only one with a “traditional” console.
Xbox Forever
I can see Sea of Thieves and Grounded doing okay numbers. I makes a lot of sense to release multi-player focused titles on as many platforms as possible.
HFR and Pentiment? Im not sure they break 1 million. Pentiment is niche of a niche. Everyone loves to dote on character action games, but they dont usually sell well. Bayonetta 3 was hotly anticipated and it barely cracked 1 million sold on Switch.
Everything is fine again, I love my Xbox and she loves me as well, even if she publishes some games on other platforms (I’m an Xbox cuck)
If COD day one on GP and Xbox bundles with 3 months of Game Pass doesn’t increase console sales and Game Pass subscribers I dunno what will
