I think it’ll be very interesting to see how Sea of Thieves and Grounded do on other platforms. I think SoT with crossplay could be very interesting as well, especially if they lean into it. Imagine bringing the console war to the high seas.

That Game Pass number is everyone, Live had shrunk a lot. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was people shifting to regular game pass and/or GPU

But at the same time their Xbox Wire post uses this verbiage, and most doubt they would add Diablo 4 to “GamePass Core”.

We’re happy to share that Diablo IV will be available to play by the 34 million Game Pass subscribers on both PC and Xbox consoles beginning March 28! This is only the start of Xbox players being able to enjoy Activision and Blizzard games on Game Pass – we look forward to sharing more soon.

They did have Starfield release, and Satya confirmed it set record number of new GamePass Subscriber sign-ups during the prior Financial Report (the one before this past January 2024).

So based on what’s been said and those leaked slides from the FTC case, it is starting to look like there may be a possiblity that next gen for Xbox looks like this:

• High-end console
• Handheld

Perhaps handheld as the “base” console in terms of specs, and the box as the “pro” version?

I feel like that would be a great direction for Xbox going forward.

Selling the console was always an incredibly stupid move even in the absolute worst case scenario. I mean don’t you want to play or replay the games you own?

I am feeling done with consoles besides Nintendo’s but I would likely feel inclined to get an Xbox handheld at least.

Just finished fully watching.

I’m pleased with the outcome. My only concern was Gamepass and they’ve clearly went out of their way to reassure us that nothing will be happening to it.

As for the multiplat stuff ? I personally think it’s clear what they’re going to do but for the first time in a long time, Xbox seems like they’re going to ease the gamers into this future rather than go for the jugular.

I personally can’t wait to play SoT with my PS friends so I’m happy.

For HiFi Rush, I repeat, you can not make a japanese team happy if their children can not play their game on their console, which is not Xbox.

You only need Nintendo Switch for that not Playstation.

I still think long term releasing single player exclusives on other platforms will cause more questions/issues from the community than it’s worth (e.g. what’s next). If it was just Nintendo it would be a bit more logical but oh well…
