Wouldnt be surprised at all to see Forza Motorsport be ported since Turn10 spent 6 years making such a flop.
The userbase isn’t going to shrink. If it sells between 20-40 million units there is still a good reason to port games over.
Let’s not forget that 3rd party games often sell better on the Xbox as a percentage of the userbase. It’s where more of the hardcore gamers are.
Well i’d like to see the math is all. I bet if Minecraft were XBox exclusive (plus PC and mobile) Xbox would be in a better position than it is now.
BGS can do damage to Xbox’s brand, they’ve owned Bethesda for 3 years and made their big new IP exclusive, reworked a deal with Disney to make Indiana Jones exclusive, if these two games go to PS5 then no reason for Doom, Elder Scrolls 6 and whatever else they’re making going to PS as well.
I would bet money on this not happening, hell I bet PlayStation is still here as a console by 2040, even if Sony by then has embraced a PC/Streaming/Console strategy, PlayStation isn’t showing signs of slowing down and the more people lose faith in Xbox by Microsoft still having no idea how to manage a console market and not hiring the right people for that a lot of Xbox console users will just move to PlayStation, PS4 I believe sold 117-120 million consoles, I’m convinced now that PS5 will do better than that and PS6 will have even less trouble especially if Xbox embraces releasing all of their games on the PlayStation as well, whether it’s at launch or not it will have a negative impact on their console market share.
I think Sony can still be in the console business, but unless they’re severely underpowered I don’t see them being a mass market price and so not big enough to sustain itself alone.
Considering they’re doing pretty ok right now compared to their main competitor, I think with new avenues like mobile and cloud they could make up for it as console revenue declines slowly but surely, which is most likely the case also for the others in the console business.
Steam deck has sold millions, honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if that starts replacing console sales as well in the near future, if it hasn’t already considering the low price point and ease of use.
I think MS can stabilize or even grow with a handheld and more exclusive titles in the future, along with COD in Gamepass.
Interesting theory. Nintendo Direct was going to happen this past week, but because of Phil with Business Update, Nintendo delayed it to see what he will have to say before publishing it with Hi-Fi Rush.
Looking at the numbers right now and the current downturn in the market, and the fact that both Series and PS5 did good due to the Covid landscape in the last few years, I’d say it’s actually more likely that the PS5 will have a hard time reaching 100 million consoles sold. 2023 was probably the peak year for PS5, it’s only going down from here as demand slows down.
I would considering GT is doing pretty fine over there
I believe Nick suggested that Xbox has a business move plan that may or may not happen but he’s optimistic if it comes true. However, if the multiplat idea also comes through, he’s really afraid that it will backfire heavily. Imagine have a master plan that could actually work but with the other idea that many would say very damaging does what they say.
Yeah, I dont think anyone would care about it going to PS5. Its already pretty forgotten, might as well try to make some money.
Its still wild to me that they gave a promotion to Alan Hartman after its release. People really be failing up in Xbox.
A game I don’t play. Is a flop man. The logic for some of y’all is crazy
One day to go
Let’s hope so! Maybe they let us wait until Friday.
If we make it to Friday I’ll be worried that it’s bad news lol.
My theory is: announcement monday and the event is on Wedenesday…THE SAME DAY OF SONY’s EARNING CALLS AND NINTENDO DIRECT!!
:
Ok no But I predict they will say something on Monday.
Don’t do it on Wednesday. It’s usually a flip a coin for me personally. I either get a really good day, or a really bad day.
For me thats Thusdays hahaha!
I think they release the info friday because bad news is always on fridays
It was the 17th best selling game in October 2023 in the US. It didnt chart well in most played lists and is currently out in the top 50 in the US. Overwhelmingly negative reviews on steam. Peak concurrent on steam is 4500.
So no, its not my opinion. By every measurable result it failed for a AAA games 6 years in the making. My personal thoughts have zero to do with that.
